At best, Harris is now even with Trump nationally. The Atlas Intel poll released today has Trump up +3 nationally. If the popular vote is even, or if Harris wins the popular vote by a couple of points, it is difficult to see how Trump could lose this election.

Trump and Vance are both attending far more campaign events that their Democrat counterparts. Democrat Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and other vulnerable Senate Democrat incumbents are avoiding Harris like the plague.

I agree but I am beginning to think that this is not going to be a close election. Trump seems to be gaining a momentum and I recall several tight campaigns where one candidate pulled away in the last few weeks to win by a wide margin. The best example may have been the 1980 election, when Reagan emerged from a tight campaign with Jimmy Carter late and won the election by a landslide. I don't expect anything like Reagan's margin, but I don't see Harris doing much to help herself at this point. Bob Casey distancing himself from her in Pennsylvania can't be a good sign.

The IBD/TIPP national presidential poll released today has Trump up 49-47 over Harris in popular votes among likely voters, with a MOE of only +/-2.0 points. The two most recently released national polls on RCP are Trump +3 and Trump +2. While it is theoretically possible that Trump could win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote, it seems highly improbable that it will happen. What these polls suggest is that Trump is making large gains in deep blue states where he is not spending much time or money campaigning, while the poll results in the top battleground states remaining mostly within the margin of error.

Oh, without a doubt. If the popular vote is within 2 points, Harris will have difficulty winning the EC. I think she needs to win the popular vote by at least 2.5-3% to feel okay about her chances. Hillary won the popular vote by 2.1%, and we know how that turned out. She lost the EC count by 74.  If the popular vote is within 2%, Harris is in trouble, imo.
