No level of beating he might take will make him drive back to Corbin.
The life lesson I was thinking about didn't involve the city of Corbin.

Yeah, I guess he could have tried to schedule Hazard.
Hazard was a horrible idea for the Corbin "brain"trusts. It cost them a state championship last season.
No, it didn't. Boyle would have won at Corbin or at home.

i think st eds typically plays at lakewood high schools stadium.

Very clear not many people know much about HS football outside KY. I have strong reason to doubt that Boyle could beat a top team in this state, let alone a top 10 team in the country. However mass respect for playing with the big boys.

They won at home on a blocked punt and three critical penalties in the redzone by Corbin Olympic high hurdler. Boyle had one player who was capable of hurting Corbin, and he did. Corbin wins by two scores at Campbell Field.

I would love to see Boyle Co win this one. The way I see it, outside of injuries, they have nothing to lose.

[size=x-small][font=Helvetica]This isn't the same Ed's team as the past few seasons. They may be bigger than Boyle, but they are not a big team. The d-line is undersized, but quick. The o-line is a fraction of the last few years and, quite frankly, was worked this weekend by SJP. Boyle will be the underdog coming into this, but they are clearly a well coached program. The Ed's staff needs to make sure they are keeping the team down to earth this week after a statement win. They are not a finished product.
From ST Ed’s message board, I’ll have to say after reading several posts about Boyle that those Buckeye’s are a Classy bunch!

Again, if you are aware of any private school recruiting athletes to their program, I would certainly hope you would place a call the the OHSAA. I am sure they would want to know about of all this cheating that is taking place.
If you do not make that call, seems that making such a statement would be "blowing smoke" and you are only parroting back a sentiment held by every public school parent since the beginning of time. JMO

I'm not even going to predict, but I am impressed that Boyle is pursuing this game. I think this reflects the strength of their program.

I am really curious what St. Edwards does to contain or silence Quisenberry. because you know they have to be dissecting him with some high IQ coaches that they have on St Ed's staff to be competing at the level they do week after week.

Is that good?
Edward #1 in Ohio(Cincy Enquirer) ; Archbishop Hoban is #6 . Hoban crushed a really good Douglass team last season by about 40 points. The ol' gunslinger, Haddix, might feel like a bullet in the gun of Robert Ford after this one, especially if he loses a key player or two to injury. Hope Boyle wins but this looks like a daunting task.

All Catholic schools, including, St Ed's and Ignatius, draw from the surrounding area. There are very few Cleveland residents that attend either of these schools because of the cost and lack of preparedness' due to having been a brought up through the Cleveland Public School system. Because Ignatius is located in the the Ohio City neighborhood (a low income area), and recognizing its obligation to provide Cleveland public school students with an opportunity, it has opened a middle school for grades 6-8. There are about 8 - 12 students per grade level. The school is completely funded by Ignatius and eligibility is based upon economic need and academic potential. If a student graduates from the academy, they are given 1st consideration to become a member of the incoming freshmen class.
St. Ignatius, another Cleveland school, recruits. Glenville, another Cleveland school, recruits, but tries to limit their recruits to Cleveland city students. It's no secret and has been the accepted way for 50 years, so it doesn't matter how many calls to the OHSAA you make. You'd be hard pressed to find more than 10 students playing for St Edwards that actually live in the Cleveland city limits.
I need to correct my earlier comment that St Edwards is located in Lakewood, Ohio, one city west of Cleveland. My apologies for the confusion, but the main point remains.
As someone who attended St Ignatius and have had nephews who attended St Ed's your comment about scholarships is just uninformed and simply ridiculous.
Every public school parent claims that Catholic schools recruit players. That is nonsense. Catholic schools lose about 10% of any given class between Freshmen and Sophomore years, whether you are an athlete or not you have to meet the academic criteria to remain a part of the student body.

This St. Edward team just beat the #1 team from Pennsylvania (St. Joe's Prep) that has a RB and DL committed to Ohio State, a LB committed to Notre Dame, a LB committed to Penn State, a OL committed to Syracuse, and a WR commited to Temple. That's just in their senior class. Id say 42-14 is about right.

Iggyfan, you didn't read me writing anything about scholarships, so don't put words in my mouth. You stated that calls should be made to OSHAA for recruiting, and now you're writing an about-face and changing your verbiage to "drawing."
You can call it "drawing" all you want, it's the same as recruiting to me, and it's not just, in your words, in surrounding areas - it's all over Northeast Ohio (from Ashtabula to Vermilion and 80 miles south) and if you don't believe that, look at St Edwards Wikipedia page under demographics and see for yourself where it says, "St. Edward's student body includes students from all over Northeast Ohio."
If you still feel like making a phone call to OSHAA, have at it. Like I said before, their recruiting has been going on for 50 years and there's nothing you can can say that will change it.

Not used to seeing a thread with Boyle being the underdog. Almost like we stumbled into another dimension, some kind of apocalypse or something!
I gotta stay in state and go with my fellow KY boys in this one. Hoping Boyle pulls out the win

With all respect to Haddix, think he’s the best coach in the state. It’s a different level

Be a hard fought win if they get it. But, as Bull said. Haddix don’t plan or try to lose games. He will have them prepared to the best of his ability. I won’t bet they win, but I’m not gonna say it’s possible. I would bet they dont lay an egg though.
Boyle has explosive players as well. 1 being Quissenberry. And the Seneca Driver Kid. It’s hard to defend a guy that’s 6-7 and moves like he is 5-10. The measurables will only benefit St Ed’s up front. But again, that’s a huge benefit.
