Opinion? Wing-t vs. spread offense.

FL version runs the QB more because they have Tebow. Meyer did the same thing with Smith at Utah. Running the QB as a main part of your offense is not going to work. Running the spread works just fine in the NFL.

The Wing-T is ball control oriented. The formation includes a "wingback" so there is the threat of at least three deep receivers. All three backs are close enough to the formation so that they may be used as blockers, carrying, etc. Like bigcoachallen said, you need some big "hog mollies" on the offensive line for this offense to run effectively. Bill Walsh ran this offense back in the day.

The Spread is actually probably better to run in high school than in college IMO. If you have a deep-ball throwing Quarterback, quick and athletic receivers, and even a decent blocking offensive line, then your spread offense will be extremely productive and tough to stop.

P.C.Defense Wrote:Wing-T is gonna' give you 3 looks every play.(Buck sweep, Trap, Waggle).
Fb will show trap( if he doesn't it's power), T will show sweep( buck) and qb will boot out( waggle out). Buck sweep really isn't a sweep at all because he will come flat towards the sideline and plant and get up-field North and South.
He won't over-run it because he's reading the block of his G to find the alley.
Your right, Wing-T is gonna' show you Sweep, Trap, Waggle almost every play.

What about the Iso,option, and counter What do you read when you get a double tight look and they play the shell game every down with 4 backs hitting the L.O.S. only one has the ball a well coached wing-t team will pull guards or tackles and even pull then fill with the F-back who has the ball. What to read what to read????? :devilflam

If it wasn't for the spread I don't think we would have been good the last two years. Maybe that first year when we played Highlands due to great running we had.
