Belfry new transfer
#1
Was told Belfry got one of Pikeville’s receiver/defensive backs today. Haven’t confirmed yet
#2
yes....heard the same thing. Not sure what's going there....but apparently he was a starter at one point
#3
Was it the one that went to Belfry before? Hall?
#4
Hall has been at Pikeville all along and I'm thinking no way.
I'm guessing Warren just a wild guess.
#5
Why waste a year of football? Why not transfer after the season ?
#6
I am fine with transfer before season begins but this late in the season this should not be aloud it’s just none sense at this point and obvious

Something has to be up. Pikeville is still projected to repeat this year.

Would he be eligible this year?  Assuming there was a legitimate “move” made.  If it is Hall or Warren they should start at Belfry if that’s who it is.

How does the eligibility work where Pikeville is an independent school.
#8
I don't know anything about eligibility but being an Independent school has nothing to do with it and makes no difference. A public school is a public school.

I wasn’t sure how it worked where they accept tuition students from throughout the county.  If they leave would they be required to go to school at the area they live in or can they go to any county school?
#10
I've heard a name...but really hate to mention it. Not Hall though

No public schools, county or independent, charge tuition. When you attend a school that is out of your home district, be it county or independent, you fill out a one page form. If both districts are in agreement then the student can attend that school and the state funding for that student goes to the school he or she is attending.  This has nothing to do with athletics, the rules for athletic eligibility are not in my knowledge base but again, the rules are the same whether that public school is county or independent.

Not that name either.

Is this confirmed or just a rumor? If not Hall or Warren, be hard to guess who. I don’t see Slone, Hager, or Stevens leaving.

Out of district kids are typically who pay tuition at most independent schools. If a kid lives within the school district they don’t pay.

Sure be nice if someone would just list the name for crying out loud. Switching this late in the season there season is more than likely done.

LOL, I taught and administrated in an independent school district for 31 years. We never received tuition from any transferring student from outside our district during those decades. I also lived outside of the district where I taught. One of my kids attended the district where I taught, the other attended yet another independent district outside of our home district where we live. Never any mention or even the thought of tuition ever, period.

Multiple districts actually, all independent, except for my first year. Never new any of them to be "crooked".  Just like in everything you have good and bad but fortunately in our area, the good outweighed the bad.

I’m just wondering why? To transfer mid season is so odd to me. Especially from a program like Pikeville. Granted he is going to a very successful program in their own right. Just a strange thing to me. Was there a move of some kind?

Are the wheels falling of the wagon in puttytatville? Sounds like an episode of As the world turns.

^^^You should just be worrying about getting another runner-up trophy. Lots of wishful thinking in this thread already lol. 4-peat coming...

Jaydon Muncy is the transfer. He practiced with the team yesterday. Whether or not he will be eligible for the rest of this year is up to the KHSAA. He will be a nice addition whenever he is eligible.

Played well 1st 4 games for Pikeville, hadn't played last 2 games. Interesting. Pikeville defense will be fine. 6A GRC scored 0 points on Pikeville defense Saturday...
