Dont know about John Meade and Byron Hall in there...Meade was a defensive machine for sure, would be much better off the bench...Byron Hall was a pretty good player, but dont forget about Jason shannon...

They both were very average high school players. Teams they played on were very average as well. Bart turned into a better college player than HS.

He is exactly right, Bart was not a great high school player at all. He developed and matured after he went to college.

M12 Wrote:What about Jimmy Daniels and Bart Williams?

Jimmy was an 8th grade holdback, back in a time when it was not a common thing to do and was a little more mature than a lot of kids his own age. He is also a classic example of a player physically maturing early on and not being a whole lot better as a senior than as a freshman.

Shelby Valley:

Chad Bowling
Jeremy Johnson
Shannon Akers
Terry Wright
Chris Johnson/Jeremy Akers?

Just a quick list w/o putting a lot of thought into it. The top 3 belong for sure.

I think Paul Terry Fleming should be on that list with Mitch Harris possibly.

I agree you cannot have a Pburg list without David Martin.

That's a good list. I think you would have to put Mitch Harris in there as well. Elisha will almost assuredly be on that list when his career is done.

Ryan Shannon was a very good player from SF

When did he play? My memory only goes back to mid-90's. Scott Hall was put on their merely because of stories I had heard about him and the 89 team.

I agree completely with Elisha and I did think about Mitch as well. Things like this are very debatable. There are probably about 5 or 6 players who could fit into the 4th and 5th spots.

How about Patrick Tackett or Kelsey Friend?

Thought about those two as well. The guys who got to play a lot as underclassmen have a better chance statwise than those who didn't get to play until junior year.

At Paintsville, JMO
Starter/Backup

PG- Mike Minix, Matt Ratliff
SG- Todd Tackett/ Landon Slone
SF- John Pelfrey/ Craig Ratliff
PF- Joey Couch/ Josh McKenzie
C- J.R. VanHoose/Scott Daniel

I know that Scott Daniel might have be a little undersized at 6'3"-6'4", but he played more like 6'6"-6'7" and was a beast inside.

I would go with

Elisha Justice (PG/SG)
Chad Bowling (PG/SG)
Jeremy Shane Johnson (F)
Jeremy Akers (F)
Matt Baker © - yeah I know he transferred to ACHS

If you add in Virgie and Dorton, completely different

Rodney Rowe
