Bourbon County at Estill County 9/30

If you are on the winning side of games like that, then you are already doing a lot of things right and have much less to learn in the first place. If you're on the loosing side, then what did you figure out.

Bourbon County has figured out how to produce yardage and most importantly enough points to win with. Estill has yet to do that, and I'd imagine that they didn't come to any great realizations during their games with Breathitt or Rock.

They know how to get yardage, There avg. close to 200 yards a game

Playing teams like Breathitt, Rock, Wayne, etc. etc. only helps making you better. Estill will win some more games this year
#33
If Estill can limit the turnovers, which they didn't have any against powell county then they can win this game, they just have to believe in there selfs and not give up

Through 4 games we have 2,325 that's 2nd behind Russell County which has 3,277. There Avg is 581. They haven't even put the stats for the Powell County game up yet. Bourbon County has 1,441. In 3A Estill is way out in front of everyone in Rushing. If the stats for the Powell County game are correct, then Estill stands at 2,511 Rushing yards on the season

The stats for Estill and Russell Co are wrong. Whoever has been doing the weekly stat reports has been putting in Season to date totals rather than game totals. For instance the stats report for the Estill vs Rock games shows 960 rushing yards for the game. So, while 2,325 would be nice (and I'd take our 3,277) it is extremely wrong. Estill actually had 960 yards rushing and 138 yards passing through their 1st four games.

That's what KHSAA shows. Always thought they were correct

I did too until I saw Russell Co's 3,000 + Rushing yards. Then I went and looked at the stats reports that are sent in by the school. I wish someone would fix them. There are a few schools that are that way.

Back to my original point, I wasn't saying that Estill didn't know how to score, I was just trying to say that Bourbon is extremely powerful on offense. Hopkins had 404 Yards on just 22 carries last week. I think Bourbon's offense will be a bit too much.

I'll take Bourbon.

Doesn't Estill still have that big back from last year or did he graduate? He was a load to bring down.

I would have to disagree. I would assume they found out what being physical was and what it would take to get to that level. They could have played Knott Co. Central, Phelps and been on the winning end of a blowout and gotten false impressions. Then you start your district and get totally embarrassed. There are always two ways to look at it. I believe playing the best only makes you better.

I meant no disrespect to KCC or Phelps, I am sure their kids are playing their hearts out.

From the scores, Estill does give up a lot of points per game. The least was 30 in their win over Morgan.

How is he doing this year?

Middlesboro put a pretty good wipp'in on Bourbon. Morgan beat Middlesboro and Estill beat Morgan. I'm say'in Estill by 3 td's.Estill will be the best team that Bourbon has seen. Drink of the week in Estill Co,Bourbon on ice!

If I am not mistaken, that is a district game. Bourbon will first have to get the ball away from a ball controlling offense before they worry about scoring.

Yes it is a district game Brutal Truth all the other teams got the ball from them I dont see why Bourbon shouldnt be able to unless their Defense dont show up, dont get me wrong Estill is a pretty good team IMO, but Bourbon should get their 2nd District Win, but ive seen stranger things happen...

I think Bourbon held their own in a scrimmage with Rockastle. I would dare say that was the best team they have seen.

Scrimmages are scrimmages. Neither team shows their best and outcomes are skewed at best. Harlan performed really well for a 1A team against Bell Co. in their gridorama. But do you think Harlan could hang with Bell in a regular season game? No way,to much depth and strength. I do know this,Middlesboro is down from their usual year in year out teams and Bourbon really struggled against them. Estill has played a tougher schedule and performed well against stronger than Bourbon. That's why I'm going with Estill Co.. As far as the "Bourbon on ice" comment goes,I'm just trying to have fun with it. I respect Bourbon Co.. They have a nice Back in their backfield. I'd certainly like to have him running the ball for the Dragons. We might could have beat Leslie Co. with him.

Thanks Dragonsdad, all this is jus opinions I hope nobody takes it personal, the Bourbon County back is also a good kid and just a junior hope he has a good season and stays healthy, also Good Luck to you & your team the rest of the season..
