Clay Co will have a good sr class next year, with mitchell and hooker if he recovers fully. Candy from Knox is a top player, Maden from Bell is also prety tough.

Should be interesting.... We lose 3 Sr starters (Cory Jones, Ben Carman, & Logan Tritapoe) and 1 'key' reserve (Boone Goldsmith). Next year's team will be, for lack of better word, inexperienced. I mean, we have two starters and two reserves who played their roles returning, with one that saw limited time in varsity games. All in all, I think, they'll just have to gain some confidence early in season. The presumed starting 5 have played together in JV and played well. So, we shall see...

Top seniors in the 16th are Timmy Knipp, Trey Williams, Aaron Rayburn, Koty Riley, Terrence Smith, Jake Ison, Michael Hampton, Darrell Cross, etc.

Well, I think the Warriors will be ok this year we graduated 2 seniors and the major part of our team Tyler Mayer, But Justin Schulz will more than likely run the point in his Sophomore year he did a good job as a Freshman as he came off of the bench for Tyler. We have all of our team back. I think we have a good chance to win the district and make some noise in the region. Good Luck to the Rebels this upcoming season.

How many upcoming juniors will there be on Southwestern's team? I remember that group of boys well during their 8th grade year. I was wondering how many were still playing basketball.

The 8th grade team that you are talking about will be Juniors. They are 5 of them still playing. They are as follows:
Cody Epperson- G
Justin Epperson- F
Daulton Marlow- G
Cameron Merrick- G
Robby Lewis- C
4 of the 5 started all year last year and I am assuming it'll be that way this year.

Phillip Ely from Harlan was second in scoring among 13th Region juniors, behind Madon from Bell Co.

Yeah.... Wayne Co probably will be the favorite, along with Mercer, in the 12th region starting the season

I'm going to throw a couple of more teams in the hat.
Pulaski County and Southwestern are going to be making some noise when the tournament rolls around.

Dontarius Pittman will be one to look out for in the 14th Region!!

I heard that Timmy looked good at the all star game along with Wade Skaggs. Knipp had 20 Skaggs had 16.
Wade Skaggs won the 3 pt shoot off.

I have to throw Trey Roberts and Justices little brother in there.
05-01-2010, 02:07 PM

Got to be Carlisle Creech for the 14th Point Guard he has the best court vision I have ever seen. Great scorer driving or shooting.irateSho

I like the play of Knipp, Dunagan, Cinnamon, J Taylor(undersize but great shooter).

From the 15th I would say BJ Moore from Sheldon Clark is the best player in the region. He has a sweet outside shot and can take you off the dribble to the basket. I think a close second is Hobo McCoy. The 15th should be very exciting this year. There are several teams that could win the region Betsey Lane, Johnson Central, Pike Central, Sheldon Clark, Belfry, and not counting out Shelby Valley. There should be several quality games in the region every night.

Nason didn't score alot (6.8ppg) but he is a top junior to be senior, he shot 65% from the field and averaged almost 6 boards a game the numbers don't blow you away but he will be big for kcc. Carlisle is one of the best pg i've seen in the 14th i believe he had 32 against breathitt at breathitt and 24 against hazard in the 14th region tourney and he is an excellent passer. he averaged 16ppg behind christian brewer who averaged 19ppg, he should bust out this be he's not going to have much help.

14th region Mikie Slone
06-17-2010, 04:00 PM
14th region: Dillion Cornett, Zach Davis, & Jordan Olinger are probably the 3 best.

Reference to Creech for Powell County. You must not have seen him play. In regions he scored 24 points on Hazard. And during regular season he took Cox and Stamper from Knott to the hole so much one of them was benched because they could not stop him. Just because he comes from Powell county doesnt mean he is not a great player. We all know you cant win a game on your own no matter how talented you are. For example look at Lebron James probably the most talented player in the NBA but his team was not in the finals. So I dont think you have enough information to draw judgement on Creech if you dont think he is in the top players for the 14th because he is. Why dont you come watch some games this year.
