Browne will get the job JMO

I disagree. PCC weight room is bigger and nicer than Bell's. Does that stop Bell Co? NO! Make all the excuses you want PCC should be a decent team. With a decent Coach they would be. Heck even Browne himself said they had the Best QB and player in the state this year and the Best LB. :eyeroll:

Wasn't there a lineman that Michigan came to watch?
#34
Besides Browne, who are the other candidates?

They treat all the programs the same in Perry County. They can't do anything to the field until they get that little gradeschool torn down and they can't do that until they build them a new one, so it will be a while before the Dores have a nice new field like the Bulldogs.

I heard maybe the former Somerset coach was interested and the last time it was open Coach Holcomb applied, wonder if he is still interested in getting out of Jackson.

Perry Centrals Weight Room is older than dirt. Bell County has a much nicer weight room. I have been in both. Now you and I both know Bobcat Dad that Perry didnt have the best football players in the state. Jordan Amis and Matt Robinson are really good players though and I will give them some credit. As for Perry having a decent team, well they did. They had one tough loss to Whitley and lost a few other close games. Bell County doesnt even know what a basketball is, thats why their football team is better than Perry's. How far do the kids from Bell have to go in order to get to practice after school? Do they have to bum rides? NO. Perry needs to get with the TIMES and spend some of that money on something else besides hoops for a while. I love my Commodores but its not like we have won a state title in basketball or anything. Lucky to win a game or two at the state tournament that is if we can get there. How many paid assistants did Dudley have at Bell and how many paid assistants did Halcomb have at Breathitt?
#38
Bill Dixon will probably come back and coach the Commodores.

candiadtes are posted in richmond register.

Browne from PCC
rowan Co coach, Brown
D-Cord from bowling green
doug carter, former Madison Southern coach

Wow, thought more would make the interview list. I guess the super at MC is set on having Browne coaching his son. Good luck to him.
#41
I'm sure they should announce something by the end of the week.
Perry's facility is more than enough for their program. No it's not right next to the school and some of the kids have to hitch hike to get to practice down the road, but it's a nice field and has a nice field house, just could use some updating. Tough to compare Bells to Perrys, I'm sure Bell didn't start out with it as nice as it is now. Takes lots of years of winning to get things like that.

:thatsfunn You are kidding right? Nobody on that list has won anything. Heck Browne maybe the best on it. Good luck to MC.
#43
Bell has not always had a winning program and they had the nice field before their winning tradition started. Perry Central deserves a nice field I dont care if they win or not. Shelby Valley has turf and their football team isnt even as good as Perrys. Put out some money Perry. Everyone knows your all about hoops anyway guru. You never put the pads on before and you never played for any bad fields or gyms either so you dont know what its like. You should of played for MC Napier. Perry does had it made considering how it was back in the day.

If this is correct then MC must want basketball to be on top. I have heard a cord. from georgetown also interviewed? For this school to only come up with this, shows a lack of commitment to football.

If Holcomb wants out of Breathitt then MC is where he would go......not PCC

Georgetown College Offensive Coordinator Craig Mullins is also a Top Candidate for the Job

Mullins was the coordinator through Georgetown's championship runs.

No I am afraid not. Old Bell High was not nice in anyway. The current field is not nice. Anyway PCC could be a good football team. Always have athlete's and size just seem they never are coached.

I wonder why Madison Central has given up on football? Their seemed to be some intrest from the some good coaches but none are being interviewed for the job?
#48
If G'town coach wants it and these are the other candidates, then he is the coach. How can anyone select any of the others over him. Sounds like he will get it and the others are "good ole boy" ,I gave you an interview so don't be mad.

PCC looks to have to wait awhile to get rid of Browne

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Very true it seems so!!!!!!

If Mullins made it to the interview process, I'm sure he should be a lock with all the other candidates listed. The experience alone would get him the job hands down.
#51
Hello! One coach is a three time state finalist D-Coordinator at Bowling Green, another is a two time NAIA national championship O-Coordinator and two others have a resume that holds up well to others. I think that Madison Central will be fine with whomever they pick.
#52
Weak List for this type of program. G'town has the only resume they should even look at. Who knows if he can coach on the high school level. May he has in his career I don't know. The rest of the list is real weak!!!!!!!!
#53
Wow! This is unbelievable, there is some better coaches out there with a good track record that would be more suitable for the position. Mullins from Georgetown might be the best pick up. Whoever gets the job will have a good pick from athletes at the school.

Hate to put leaks in your statement......but..... who did Bowling Green have to beat to get to the point??? Nobody. Also what happened in the Finals each time?

Mullins maybe a viable choice the others are NOT.

Bert Browne was just the BEST Quaterback to ever play at Madison Central. In the entire schools history. He has coached college as well. Browne also is from Richmond. I think Browne would stay in town for a long time if he got this job.

Where are all these athletes at Perry, Bobcat Dad? I would just like to know.

There is good 5A competition in the west and yes they did lose but it was to some very good Highlands teams. I think Mullins may have coached at Boone Co.
#57
Who couldnt be good at Bowling green. you have great talent and speed there. If you cant win it all there, then how can you win somewhere with less talent. Like saying Chuck Smith could win it all at Berea or Jackson Co.

I do understand that not every program can be a Bell or Breathitt County

If Browne were going to play at MC I say take him .....but...They are looking for a head coach... So very weak field outside of Mullins.

I still think any of them would be a good choice for Central.
