Does anyone know if any players from east ridge made the team?

I dont think they were any. Channing Pugh and Keith May would be the only players worth mentioning from East Ridge. I know they both have earned several awards but not sure if they were named to this.

The Defense, O-L and Honorable Mention segment is now available online. Just finished watching it and was quite surprised at some of the names that were missing. (Not just McKinney). I guess if the D numbers hadn't been listed it wouldn't have been as bad. But to know that they obviously looked at the numbers and that players with 100+ tackles weren't listed/recognized yet players with 50-60 tackles were. I know everyone can't make the list- but I still have to say I was pretty suprised. Players that were named to both the AP and Coaches All State teams/honorable mention weren't recocnized but players who made neither team were. Just figured that if you were good enough to make honorable mention for both that surely you were good enough to be recognized by the Mountain Area for that same position.

Congrats to Allen Central's Logan Crowder for being named 3rd team running back and to Justin Jackson and Hunter Crowder for honorable mention as running backs. The Rebel's finished the season leading all classes in rushing. The last update shown has AC rushing for 4910 yards in 12 games and averaging 409 yards per game. Shelby Valley finished with 4699 yards on the season and comes in 2nd in the state in rushing.

When someone attempts to take away from what one kid accomplished on the field, to build up another or get another noticed it shows, "no class". Don't act like your some expert, because it's obvious that your football IQ and common sense are lacking.

I'm not taking anything away from what Watkins did, I was simply stating my opinion. Is that not what this board is about?? Stating our opinions? Like I said I saw both Corbin and Valley play 3 times a piece, and with a common opponent being Prestonsburg and Roberts impressed me more. Roberts having 222 yards and Watkins having 147against the common opponent. I never once said that Watkins wasn't a good player. I never claimed to be an expert , but for you to question my football IQ and common sense is pretty comical considering you know nothing about me or what I do or who I am.

And I will say it again. I think that BJ Roberts and Micheal Burchett are both better then Caleb Watkins. That is not bashing Caleb Watkins. I am forming my own opinion based on observation. If I had said that Caleb Watkins was a joke then that would be bashing. Saying that I thought it was a joke he won, is more of a slight towards the people that made thats decision. My opinion of your opinion is that it is one that is based on a bias and lacks in credibility. I will say it again, Roberts and Burchett are both great players and I wish the best for both of them. I just get sick of adults who criticize high school athletes, set themselves up as athletic experts, correct kids from the stands, etc. when many of them never played a lick of anything in their lives(not saying you didn't), many of them never held anything in their hand but a beer and a cigarette and they have all the answers. There is one thing that I have learned from high school sports, its tends to bring out the worst in people, jealousy in the worst sense. I have heard the worst, people actually wishing a kid would be injured so that their darling or their team would have an advantage.
I'm not an expert and neither are you, but we need to be mindful that we should give credit where credit is due and leave it at that. :biggrin:
