As mentioned...The better team won regardless. This game played into Perry Central's favor as the RAIN POURED....Very proud of Logan and the Cougars and yes..MY HEART STOPPED when he cramped up on the goaline...Thought he had re-injured his leg. I hope these 2 teams can meet again because I truly think we will see the same outcome. Would love to see a dry night and these 2 teams. WAY TO GO COUGARS!!!

Would have liked to see these two play. From what WYMT was showing last night and the post on here it appears to have been a great game.

Amis was pretty much contained throughout the game. Rankin was outstanding. LCC stopped themselves. Thought they became too conservative. LCC does have two players that need to channel their aggression in a different path. Dirtiest team, you haven't watched much football then. Brown and Johnson came up with some big plays. Line started dominating after some initial breakdowns. Run blitz by PCC was effective.
Nice to hear game called in a rational manner . Good luck to both!

Also I have a question. If a player gets 2 personal fouls in a game aint he supposed to be ejected? or is it 3 personal fouls.
I thought the same thing...in 08 when a clay came to perry a clay county player got 2 and got tossed..thats supposed to be the rule unlessed they changed it..but this was a good game but i think Bert Browne made a bonehead decision trying to let Amis, who did'nt run the ball well all nite take it on 4th and 3 instead of giving the ball to Rankin who carried the team on his ball all night..but i think these 2 will meet again in district play..and remember..it's pretty hard to beat the same team twice in the same year
But congrats cougars.

i dont know why you think the rain helped pcc. letcher basically ran the ball all night so it was in there favor.

Well played game by both team. Wish PCC would have capitalized on that opportunity to win it at the end but oh well. I really hope these teams meet again in the playoffs, I believe the outcome will be different. Regardless, LCC won last night and congrats to them.

Ouch, didnât see this coming. How could have Letcher beat PCC with the superior offensive intellect mind of Brown, the defensive salvation of Combs, and their D1 quarterback. Well everyone has a bad night. From this game out, I see PCC stomping everyone in their district, being on the carpet, and taking home a trophy. What was the score of last yearâs game? The rest of the season for PCC should be a breeze with the athletes they have. Like someone said on another post, thank goodness that Holland guy doesnât call their defense or PCC would have had to score 80 just to win by 7. Like coach Brown says offense always wins ballgames :ChairHit:

OK, I was at this game, it was a toss up, this one or the P'burg SC game. Too far to Inez so I settled for LCC. 2 personal fouls is not an ejection, 2 unsportsmanlike however is. I thought it was a good called game and to clear up something from another post, it was the fact that PCC requested officials from out of our region to handle the BC game and not that he so much gets his favorite crew to call his games.
A lot of you, if you understood the rules of the game, you would not misrepresent and make the officials look bad.

This was an amazing game. The first play of the game was crazy. Jordan Amis is a great player to watch. I was also impressed with Logan Johnson. He is a hard nosed player that will finish his runs. LCC never gave up, even though they had the majority of the penalties. And Jesse Rose made some key tackles at the end of the game. Congrats Cougars!!!

Ryan Hall and Travis Stephans has to be the defensive players of the game. Both of them saved us, and held PCC offense in the 4th quarter.

lccs defense wasnt that great either. pcc had around 460 yards of offense while letcher had around 350. pcc just came up short on there last 2 posessions of the game.

was kinda hoping that pcc would have won, but it was a close game

I think referees believe it should be against the law to criticize or critique their calling although they are getting paid.

PCC posters stated all week that their defense was awesome but you were right. You stated that LCC would score the most points on PCC that has been scored all year. Except it was 35 instead of 20.

You were the one who stated will Coach Browne have his handpicked referees like he did at Breathitt. You later did change that but you went on to state that Melton may have his handpicked hometown referees.

I'm not sure on the numbers, but #11 did GREAT at corner. Broke up a lot of passes that would have scored. And got the INT. He did good. Also #5 ran the ball well.

I am glad to see us involve Dustin Brown #5 more into the offense because the boy is a STUD and it showed....Just a good win..Best of luck to the Dore's the rest of the way..Instead of when and if we meet again..GO COUGARS!!! BEAT THE BLACK BEARS!

If Pcc could have kick extra points they would have won.
09-26-2009, 09:33 PM
Heard a kicker frome Pikeville nailed a forty yarder! I do not feel anything PCC could or should have done would have changed the outcome. Both teams made mistakes and we all know you have to play through mistakes. And some are saying that a different outcome is eminent if these two meet again. Thats true but the outcome will be a more severe beating in the Cougars favor.

I feel the Belfry game made them grow alot and improve. I wish i could have attended this battle i assume the atmosphere was a full on tweek!!! I can't wait to see it on Sports Overtime and bask in sweet redemption.
i was in attendance for this game and it was the best ive seen this year......i called this win...great job by the lcc defense at the end of the game

perry will not win this district....i beleive their extremly overrated and so is amis......he didnt do ne thing special....he had two touchdown passes that were flukes....he trys to do to much with his feet and he isnt a true quarterback imo

bac2369 Wrote:The officating was terrible tonight from what i saw. Calls were missed both ways but the the better team come out and won tonight. People can say PCC schedule is weak and i really think it was expect for the breathitt county game but they are 1-5 now so it really looks like a week game. PCC showed they can score against good competition and i really dont know what the people where saying that LCC had an easy schedule because they are crazy. Hazard and Belfry will beg the differ because they are two very good teams. Letchers offense is much better out of the gun or i seem to think so because they had a few turnovers in the i-form that has to be correct come playoff time. I would really love to see these two play again.
whoever says that lcc has a weak schedule doesnt need to be on bluegrassrivals.....lcc played hazard, belfry, and pcc....theyve yet to play whitley, middlesboro, and louisville central....this is an extremely tough schedule.....its ignorant to say they have a weak schedule
