now that cody prichard is out they have no one else to run the ball exept channing.so now everyone keys on channing.now just think if u put trent in at qb and jade playing H and channing at rb.the D would now have to focus on jade and channing running the ball and trent also.if they really wanted to they could throw the ball as a threat to.the team everyone sees playing on friday night is not the team that breathitt really has.breathitt has talent all over the feild but the problem is that there only getting the ball to two or three players and as far as freshman go yes they are 3 or 4 freshman on the team that can play at the varsity level but the others that bobcatmom10 talk about are not ready for the speed of the game at that level more than likely they will be later on in the season or next year but if breathitt wants to turn things around they need to change something up.the kids also need to get a little pride and heart about them.idc how tired u are if u have heart these kids could play all game thats what there lacking because there not out of condition.

Man, it is looking ugly for Breathitt. What in the world is wrong? How can a team be that overrated? Explanations?
09-20-2009, 06:47 PM
Every week I keep thinking that Breathitt is about to kick it into gear and look somewhat like they were last year. Maybe not.

Breathitt is playing possum and will be there in the end competing for the title with the 2-3 teams from EKY that are in the running. This is my hope anyway.

bobcatmom1 Wrote:I am not saying the first string center is not any good. He is an awesome player. I am saying that they all need a break they cannot play all sides of the ball without a break. I am just saying that they have players on the sideline that are good enough to play and give the starters a breather. I am not even talking about 1st string center. You need to stop reading things in to what I am saying! I just don't want the kids to play hurt or exhausted when they don't have to that's all I am saying and maybe they would have more heart and more pride if they could get a breather every now and then. It's hard to play with heart when you are exhausted. I brought up those other players on the sideline because Holcomb acts like he doesn't have anyone to put in to give the starters a break and he does! Again you need to stop putting words in my mouth that I didn't say!!!!!!:ChairHit:
Spring practice....2 a days.....these are tools used by coaches so their players are in shape. Your coach has been coaching long enough to know who his best 11 players are and i'm sure those 11 are on the field on both sides of the ball. He has done great things for your school. I am done having this post battle with you don't know what you are talking about, this wll go nowhere I hope your freshman see the field soon. Good Luck.

I used to walk by Coach Haywood's old house every day in between the main building and science building over on Belfry's old campus.
You and I go way back OneIJoe, and I know how much you enjoyed beating Belfry in week one. I want to say congrats. Blackcats have a good team this season, and I am routing for you guys in 2A.
Hatred on gameday but mutual respect. That is what should define Belfry v. Pburg.
Sorry for the aside to all other posters.

Im starting to wonder if Breathitts heads were swelled up a little to big this season? Something is bad wrong right now in Jackson. Congrats LC.

I won't get into ugly word throwing and all that but, I think we all know why the private schools has an upper hand in talent and players. I hope in my life time the KHSAA does something about it! I have a lot of good friends at Rosehill school and their kids are there for a christain education and do not play sports and the sport kids pay near nothing to go there! It has given that school a black eye and they don't deserve it. I really think coach/Mr. Bush and those like him are there for the right reasons.

Breathitt will win their district but will struggle mightily when it is playoff time.

Turning the ball over 5 times in the first half doesnt help any team. Breathitt has been holding the ball like a loaf of bread. All five turnovers were fumbles. Channing had 3, Fletcher and Haddix each had one.

No way a team can go from being as good as they were to being as bad as they are with the same players.

Losing quality players like Juan Little and Scott Bailey can make a big difference in a team. They may not have been the ones that had their names in the headlines but they were as important as any member on the team.....there were obviously several members on the sideline last year that are being missed.

Absolutely !!
It wasn't so much "enjoying" the Blackcat victory (it was only the 1st game, after all), as much as being pleasantly surprised at P-burg's performance and relieved the Pirate win streak was ended. Once a rivalry game favors one team too many times, it tends to become less of a rivalry (you know what I mean) and I didn't want Belfry/P-burg to lose its luster.
As much talk about Belfry having so many 1st time varsity players, I knew P-burg had more. Fortunately for the Blackcats, Burchett was one of the returnees and has allowed the offense to work as designed. Belfry had Varney, but I'm sure no one there knew he'd shoulder a load like he has so far (what an animal !!).
IMO, Belfry is the favorite to be the 3A rep. from this 1/2 of the state. Wouldn't it be GREAT to see both the RED and BLACK in Bowling Green ?!?

If this is true the entire Breathitt team deserves an Oscar, because so far this season they have acted the part of a losing team better than anyone in Hollywood could dream up.

bobcatmom1 Wrote:I don't think I know what the problem is. They have a pathetic coach that instead of putting the better players from the sideline in so we can win plays other players because of pressure from some of the parents. There were 7 players last year on SMS team that made the Big Sandy Valley all conference team. 6 of those players are on the team this year and the other one is in 8th grade. He only gives 3 of those players any real playing time and he subs 2 others every now and then and the other one never sees the game except from the sideline. The one he never subs is supposed to be 2nd string center. He never subs him in for the starting Center to give him a break or if the starting center gets hurt. This player also can play any position on the offensive line. We also have 7 other freshman that are excellent players also but they never see the game either. That's the problem. Also they don't play as a team, he sends the Freshman home on Home games and keeps the rest of the team there with him and the parents have to bring the Freshman back a 5:00pm. This makes the Freshman feel as if they are not part of the team and puts animosity between the players. Breathitt will not win another game this year until MH starts making some changes in the lineup he has on the field. A good start would be switching out Richard Trent and Jade Haddix making Richard the starting quarterback and Jade a running back because clearly he is not a Quarterback just because his brother was a good QB doesn't make him one. I am not saying Jade isn't an awesome athelete I'm just saying he is no QB. :HitWall:
What? I've watched a few of his games from last season and Jade was making some good passes. Perfect touch on his passes. He has a good arm when he gets the chance to throw it.

The problem is he is only passing on obvious passing downs and the defense is playing zone coverages that he is not reading very well. Even I can devise a defense that can stop an offense that runs a run on 1st and 2nd down and pass on 3rd down play calling.

Why would a team as "talented" or "good" as Breathitt play possum for four straight games? Not to mention the two games they were destroyed in. Come on, this team was just overrated. There is no going around it.
