Pikeville Panthers 2009 Schedule
#31
bac2369 Wrote:I know Pikeville has tradition but i just dont think there going to be the # 1 team in there district this year. Its going to be a 3 way toss up with AC, Paintville and Pikeville. Best of Luck to all teams and too Betsy lane as well as they try to make it 2 straight trips to the playoffs.

AC and Paintville? no way....

As for the Betsy Layne comment, I'll just let it go!
Panthers should only lose three games this year, with the possibility of a fourth loss.

LOL...nice comment...

SportsKing Wrote:Do you think he would change his offense or adjust the position?

They just happened to have a great QB over at LC. I don't think his offense HAS to have have the QB account for a huge % of the offense. I think he will have a balanced attack, and mix it up a lot more than the last few Pikeville teams. I could be wrong though, we will have to wait and see...
#34
I would say 5-5 maybe 6-4.

SportsKing Wrote:In Ben Howards offense, the QB is the primary ball carrier. The QB at LCC had over 30 more rushing attempts than the closest runninig back and was the teams leading rusher. I wonder if Blake Branham is ready to accept this kind of role at Pikeville.

It's also an offense that gives a lot of good angles for the interior offensive line in the blocking schemes. It will be a lot of fun for all these guys to learn this offense and even more fun to see it be successful. Best of luck to the Pikeville Panthers.

Pikeville will drop a ton of points on both of those teams more than likely.
#37
AC had their shot to beat us last year and couldn't get it done. I'm not gonna make any predictions about our record but we will win our district and go to the region title game.
#38
i see 3 loses and maybe 4 if they dont come ready to play p-burg

I see a regular season 7 - 3 and a good chance of a reg. title.

LCA returns alot! No shot of a regional title for the Panthers. However, they should not see much competition until that game. Hazard loses everything.

Pikeville wouldn't see LCA until the semis would they?

In the current alignment we will not face LCA until the semis

That's right, I misspoke. It would be the semi- finals where they would see LCA.

I agree. Maybe with a more diverse offense along with some improvements on D we might be a little more competitive against our non district schedule this year.

HAIL PIKEVILLE! Wrote:I agree. Maybe with a more diverse offense along with some improvements on D we might be a little more competitive against our non district schedule this year.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that is a given.

Well I guess another way of looking at it is we cant be any LESS competitive than we were last year.

I agree, with the exception of th loss of Daniel Harmon and Tyler Baker this team shold have all the tools in place for a shot at the regional championship, not to mention Coach Howard & Coach Mac directing this team in the upcoming season. GO PANTHERS!!

How much faster has Branham gotten in the offseason. Have there been any 40 times recorded?

7-3 turning it back around

Hazard lost a lot of seniors to graduate this year but dont count them out. Hazard in my opinion will not be down but possibly better next year. Of Course you dont have a deep threat and running QB but you get a Qb who throws good passes and completes them and with a senior line this year Hazard Mikael Campbell will have a good year at running the ball and having wide reciever/ tight-end joey meehan it gives hazard a big 3rd down back to throw too. Hazard defense will be the key to there success. If no one steps up on D then Hazard will lose.

Agreed.

P-burg will not give us much of a threat , but Hazard will be more of a challange. But we can beat them if we want to. I.M.O. GO PANTHERS!!

I would have liked for SV and Pikeville to have played next year. Cannot see it happening though. I think SV would be willing to play but Pikeville looks booked up.
