With that out of the way seems like to me we could start at covington and split the state right down the middle and east of that line is where it seems that the predictions are. Is there a lack of 5A teams out west or just a lack of members on here?
I think it's a combination of lack of members from the western part of the state as well as the fact that it's been so long since a team from the west won 5A or 3A before it, that the fans out there have almost lost hope. Which they shouldn't, because there have been some very good teams from out west. With the championship games being at WKU, if Bowling Green can make it to the state game, it'll be right in their backyard. Almost a home field advantage from a crowd perspective.

I don't really hear a lot about any western teams in media or anything, but to be honest I wouldn't know a lot about northern teams if not for this site. I think it will be nice for state to be played at WKU but seems weird for two teams from the eastern/northern part of the state to travel all the way out there to play, but then again traveling is part of the fun of the game.

At least in 5A, there won't be two teams from Northern and Eastern Kentucky travelling to BG to play in the championship game, as those areas are both in the East side of the bracket.
It could happen in 1A however, as Beechwood is in the West side of the bracket and of course the Eastern Kentucky schools are in the East side of the bracket.
I'm like you: I'm looking forward to the games being at WKU. They've done an exceptional renovation job and the place won't look empty like it did at PJS. Personally, I've never liked the traffic issues at PJS or the security folks either (never had a problem with them, they just haven't been real helpful). Louisville hasn't really opened its arms to the championship games and if BG handles football halfway as good as it does girls bball, it will be a big improvement in my mind. It will be a longer drive, but who cares as it's only once a year for the opportunity to watch some great football and hopefully cheer your home team to victory.

I posted without really thinking about districts, I'm pretty sure that's why they have districts to begin with.

Highlands is obviously the favorite, but it is hard to go to the finals 3 years in a row, much less win it 3 years in a row.

Not as hard, now that they have this stupid six class system.

Perhaps that's true, but in Highlands case, I doubt there would be much change. If there were only 5 classes, Highlands would probably still be able to play up into 4A and with the downsizing to 5 classes, I doubt their road to the championship would be much if any more difficult. If Highlands had to stay in 3A, then it could perhaps be a little tougher if you believe that Belfry, Bell and Breathitt (likely 3A schools in a 5 class system) are better than Johnson Central, LCC, Whitley and Ashland (5A schools in a 6 class system) year in and year out. Going to 6 classes in my opinion didn't make it much if any easier for Highlands to make it to the championship with them playing up at 5A. If they'd had stayed at 3A, I'd definitely agree with you.
Going to 6 classes definitely made it easier for Beechwood to get to the championship game, however.
