Pikeville 2009

LuvSV Wrote:i know that we did not have a good experience with ben at sv, but maybe he deserves another chance, who knows. maybe he will do things a little different back at pikeville. i think hillard is a little afraid right now since that is still in the minds of people and that is why he is not so excited. pikeville cannot get those kids they were getting before because of this new reciprocal agreement. guess we will find out just how good this coaching staff really is next year. i am from sv and we still have that bitter taste in our mouths. but like in every new coach, you will have to give him some time. no one can turn a program around in a year or two and believe me, it is going to take some work to fix what is there. it all started when they got rid of some of their coaches in the lower end of the program some years ago. now that has to all be fixed also. i used to be a big hillard fan until he started hopping around for the money. i guess he had done all he felt he could do at pikeville and decided to just make some money in his decling years. he used his influence in recent years to place and replace some people that he will have to think about for the rest of his life if he has a conscience.

I bet you done some things when you were younger that you regret. I know I do. If we as a community didnt think that Ben had learned from his mistakes theres no way we would have fought as hard as we did to get him hired. You need to just worry about whats going on on "Planet Virgie" and leave the Pikeville stuff to us.

Who are some of the new kids that are playing this year that have not been playing? Is that going to be a factor this coming season?

I don't see where you get that Hillard is $$$ hopping? He left Pikeville and helped out at SV for a while. He then came over here to Letcher County (his home) and has built a wonderful program. I'll go out on a limb and say that they are a much better program than what you have at Shelby Valley. Hillard's not leaving just because Ben chose to leave. You are just a bitter person regardless of the Ben issue or not. We all make young foolish mistakes and that's what's wonderful about America and Eastern Kentucky, were a forgiving group of people that believes that everyone deserves a second chance. I think that Ben will do wonderful at Pikeville and I know that Hillard will continue to win 9 or 10+ games a year over here at Letcher County, as far as SV program goes ??????????

no, i do not have anything in my past, i guess i have lived a sheltered life as far as that goes. i DO have the right to cast stones because of this reason, but the point i was trying to get through to you and some of those pikevillians is that hillard did some things when he was trying to get ben a job to hurt some people and i guess he can forgive himself although it worked out to be real embarrassing for him and i guess if he had it to do over he would never use his friend paul david dotson to get his work done because it had to be very embarrassing. he had to oust rodney rowe also to get his son-in-law hired as our boys basketball coach. now, coach booher has done a great job, but rodney was doing a great job before hand. hillard disrupted more than a couple lives to get what he wanted for his family, i just hope he gives that some thought in his declining years. i do think that if hillard had been done early in his career the way he did some people, we would not know who hillard was. i do like hillard, but when you do people wrong and cause them harm to get what you want for you and yours, if you have a conscience, it comes back to haunt you. if you do not have a conscience, it really doesn't matter and he is not as sanctified as you people make him out to be. good luck ben, hope you can lead these guys in the right path.

Just to name a few

WR/RB/DB-Clark Keene-JR-Dual threat with a great mix of speed, quickness, and toughness. Hes got great instincts on D and plays physical.

WR/DB-Anthony Evans-JR- Great Athlete, has good hands and speed. Has caught on quite fast considering hasnt played football since Little League.

WR/DB-Matt Logan-JR-Awesome Raw Talent. Has potential to be a playmaker on both sides of the ball.

WR/DB-Steven Layne-JR-Doesnt posess the physical skills as the above three but makes up for it with good effort on every play. IMO he will see the field this fall. Led the JR high team to the county chmpionship game in '06 as a QB so he might be a good backup option to Blake Branham.

G/LB-Madison Coleman-JR-Converted TE, has a good athleticism and decent size for a guard. Has impressed on the line so far during spring ball.

Seems like your holding a grudge on the Howard family and you need to grow up and get over it b/c you cant change the past and especially not on BGR!!!!!

Where did you hear that? Last I heard AE was really enjoying it. Now he wasnt at practice yesterday along with a few others because they had baseball practice.

Just got the official word:

Anthony Evans is still a member of the football team.
#51
I know that Anthony leaves around 7 am and gets home after 930pm when he has baseball and football practices; and throw in weightlifting at last period of school. He lives at Sidney.
#52
Both of them are great with kids. We all know how much better kids came out of LCC since both of them was there. I know that Ben will do the same at Pikeville.

Isn't Sidney in the Belfry school district?

Yes it is, along with Logan, Williamson, and Matewan.

I'm asking a legitimate question.....is Sidney still in the Belfry School district. With all the changes that's went on with the highway development...I wasn't sure if those kids were still in Belfry's district or Pike Central's.

Logan, Williamson and Matewan have nothing to do with the conversation....unless you're trying to insinuate something?

Just havin' some fun. I assumed Sidney was in the Belfry district but I'm not 100% sure.

As of right now who will be playing the reciever positions for Coach Howard and the Panthers?
#58
OutlawJoseyWales Wrote:Isn't Sidney in the Belfry school district?

Sidney is in the Belfry School District. Anthony has been attending Pikeville School System since kindergarden. He is an honor roll student also.
#59
So what has been the defense like so far?

You would figure he would come to belfry to be on a better football teamTongueirateSho
