Powell County Jams

There are actually alot of Guys playing in Jams that are just as good or better than the players on their respevtive high school team...agreeing with UKlover, theyre just to lazy to try out.

Yea and what makes you think that, Powell County Basketball has treated alot of people wrong and thats why they don't play for the high school.

Some of the coaches in jams are not very experienced at coaching but thats not their fault its church league not High School they dont have to be really experienced

Jon Sparks? I heard he tried out for the team and didn't make it. But I don't know. Has Aj even seen playing time?? He actually was not a big factor in JAMS from what I hear. Just his size though. But goodluck to both.

Yeah i also think oscar moore plays for this league to he did play summer league for the high school anyone know what happened to him.

Yeah by the way it looked in the game not very good fundamentals just a big body down there which the other team did not have much size but maybe with some more teaching he might improve. Wolfe does not have much size so he did have a advantage there.

people play in this league B/C they cant play 4 powell high... B/c there not Good... jon conley is the best player 2 come out of SO CALLED JAMS...

well sounds like you know alot or maybe they are people that are better then the high school but conely came from there and is now the best big man on the team

I say this with respect intended.....Get over it. You are going to face many disappointments from people in the real world. It's easier to quit and give up when things don't go your way. It takes a real man to rise above it and perservere during hard times. I think that the Jams program sounds sort of like the Upward program. If it is, then it was intended to give everyone a chance to play and learn the fundamentals of the sport so that everyone has a chance to play. Not everyone is born with the desire and talent that others are.

That's what I don't like about organized sports (public schools). Granted, in small towns, coaches usually determine starting lineup based on who their parents are or how much money they contribute to the program. But sometimes, it is just simply based on level of talent. I don't know him, but it doesn't sound like Powell Co's basketball coach cares much about who your daddy is. Sounds like a good coach to me. I wish more coaches would follow along. :thumpsup:

excuse me bro, i have made the team 2 years, last year under C. Lively i had no problems, as did anyone else. I also made it this year, but just so happens I somehow lost tons of talent and am no longer good enough to play more than a minute.

That is just it, i totally agree, but what is the use in percevering when nothing is gonna change, its better to just leave it how it is.

Yea im sure that is it, W/E, Oscar Moore could play with the best of them, just because he would rather play jams than for the HS you guys are gonna degrade him, maybe he just has more fun, i mean that is what basketball is all about.
