Good win for SV

I think that was right. It was either 2 or 3. Two of those turnovers were made at the very end of the game by the bench.

Valley was out for revenge, Congrats Wildcats

Congrats Cats, you all came to play. I'd like to know why Devan didn't guard Ashley, I think this was a big difference, Devan guarded Jonah and Kirby.
Keep your heads up Pikeville, you all got us once this year, you've got maybe 2 more chances.

Finally the Shelby Valley of old is back, they were clicking on all cylinders. If they keep this intensity up i dont think anyone in the 15th can beat them, IF they can keep it up. The full court pressure absolutley ripped Pikeville apart, they never let them control the game. They took Devan Adams completely out of the game, and didnt let him rule the paint.
Congrats SV
Congrats SV

Devan got an open dunk in this game, and the momentum went the other way, it was all down hill for Pikeville after that dunk.

One thing I want to know about the game, why do Pikeville's students chant "back to the hollers" to the Valley students? Do Pikeville people not know where they are from, most people who go to Pikeville have parents who attended a different Pike County school growing up.

this game proved who was ready to play more. Pikeville thought itd be a repeat of the All-A but even more due to a home game.
theres still 59th and 15th

I'll have to disagree with respect. I've just had an opportunity to watch the game film and this game was not proof of who was more ready to play. This game was proof of who is the better team. Shelby Valley executed to perfection in every single aspect of basketball. There's a **** of a lot of credit due to the Wildcat ball club and the coaching staff for this game. This is all the proof you need that when Shelby Valley is at the top of their game, they can easily compete with any team in the state of Kentucky. Even without Taylor Newsome, Shelby Valley is still the favorites to win the 15th until someone else proves otherwise. They've finally figured out how to handle Pikeville though.

The One and Only 13 Wrote:This score shocked me. I thought Pikeville had closed the gap on Valley by removing their measure of invincibility in the All "A" Classic but once again, the Wildcats prove that they are the measuring stick of the 15th Region. I am praying for a Paintsville/Shelby Valley matchup in the 15th Regional Tournament because, IMO, that will be the game of the year. It took Paintsville 2 overtimes and a late 4th quarter rally to disperse of Pikeville in the All "A" and now Valley has finally found a way to dismantle the Panthers. It'd be an interesting matchup with lots of talk leading up to say the least.
finally? With last year and this year so far the record is 6 and 1. If valleys coach had turned up the pressure at the ALL A there would have been a different outcome.

Alot of the credit for this win should go to Coach Booher and Coach Newsome. They made some adjustments in the defensive strategy and the players executed it to perfection. Coach Booher was criticized after the loss last week, but he had a great gameplan in place for this one. Good job coach!

Well, you just said the opposite thing in another thread, you said that SV can be beaten and Pikeville has proven they could do it and may not win the 15th, now you are sayin they can compete with any one in KY and are the 15th region favorites.

I expected SV to come back and win this one big. IMO, SV is a better team than Pikeville in a series, but on any given night the Panthers could take them out, & that's what happened in the all A. If SV doesn't play their best then Pikeville is more than capable of beating them. They have already proved it! I think the all A may have severed as a wake up call for SV. Doesn't mean I think SV will run away with the 59th or the region, but I do think they will play better from this point on. Just my opinion!

Wow, I had been thinking Valley would win this one but am very surprised at the score. This must have been the perfect storm of a perfect game for SV and a terrible game for Pikeville, just the opposite of last week's contest.
One statistic jumped out at me from the final stats, Valley only took 13 threes out of 62 shots. That's how you win, taking it to the hole and not settling for long-range shots.
Like others have said, I do think Valley is the superior team, just not 24 points better. If they meet again in the 59th finals, Valley better not think it will be this easy again.

Just curious, how many 3's did SV take in the all a when they lost to Pikeville?

This should have been more like the All A game, but sometimes the best teams don't win. Any team can be beat on a given night, but SV and Paintsville are truly on a different level than the rest of the region when they are at their best!
Congrats to Valley on the win!
I wonder if everyone thinks this way and if that kind of thinking isn't what led to to the results of the All A tourney? Just wondering....

Interesting stat
SV takes 25 three's in the All A game against Pikeville and loses
The Wildcats take 13 three's in this game and win big
IMO, SV is not a great 3-pt shooting team. IMO they are better when they limit the number of 3's they take. JMO

SV and Pikeville have matched up 7 times in the last 2 years, and SV has won 6 of them. IMO Pikeville is a good team and was bound to win one against SV soon. But they are still no where near the level of SV and Paintsville.

This is basically Pikeville's last year to have a shot at region till Elisha graduates. Pikeville loses Clevinger and Honaker this year, then Adams next, they better give it their ALL because the next 2 years will be rough against Valley.

Clevenger is just a junior...They return everyone Except for Bell and Honaker...Valley loses J. Bryant and J.Justice...Should be some more great battles next year...
