Be something to see Paintsville win by as much as JBS did over Pikeville in the WYMT. Wasn't it like 47 points or something ? Good luck to both teams.

That is what is so ironic about these posts. There are nights when teams just don't play well and everyone gets on here and blasts the loser and praises the winner as if they are state champion material. Some games a great team should never lose no matter how they play, but then there are favorites that lose every night. That is why they play the games. It isn't necessarily which team is better, but which team plays better on a given night!

Ill take Paintsville by 10. The Tigers will wear Pikeville out with there fast break IMO.

I don't think Pikeville can beat PHS unles they play an amazing game from start to fininish. they have to pull of the perfect game. I think Paintsville has there heads on straight and they will win tomorrow. JMO.

ok..tried to get your last sentance as the only quote...but it did not work...so....with your last sentance as quote......I always want to see the 15th do well, show the rest of KY, we eastern folk do have talent. But I would yell louder for Pikeville than the other ville in Richmond. Good luck PIKEVILLE. :blondeche

I think this will be a great game....From what I have seen from Paintsville this year they just seem to want to let you shoot it so they can go down on the other end and get up a shot....They are sooo good offensively that this usually works...The only problem is that Pikeville can score....If they dont guard them it will be a close game....I still think that Paintsville is so good on the offensive end that they will still win by 6 or 8....I think the thing that will help Paintsville besides Slone scoring 30 is that Grimm (I think the name is Grimm but Im not really sure on Paintsville's names....IF I am wrong i appologize) will give Adadms problems under the basket because he is so strong....I think he will push him out on the floor and put him out of his comfort zone...Good luck to both teams tomorrow.

The Tigers are good at cutting off the lanes when they want to. They usually play such up tempo and are scoring so well, that they sometimes appear to slack on D. They can play D though. Yeah, if Grimm and Vanhoose can use their experience and strength, they might be able to keep Adams out of position. Either way, I don't see Pikeville being able to keep up offensively though. Guess we'll know tomorrow though.

Paintsville by at least 10, could be worse if they hit.

Paintsville is averaging 83 points a game. That shows they can score. On the other hand, Pikeville is giving up 56 points per game on average. Who wins, Pikevilles defense or Paintsvilles offense? I personally dont think Pikeville should be counted out this early. Look at the threads, watch tv, read the opinions, Pikeville shouldnt be playing this game and Paintsville should. Never count out the underdog. Even though Paintsville has all this strength under the goal, I personally think that Pikeville should play a inside out game. Get all that strength in foul trouble and test Bill Mikes bench. If Pikeville plays tonight like they did last night. Driving to the hole, setting it up when it isnt there. Making 7 to 12 passes before taking a shot most of the time, Paintsville might be hurting a little. Paintsville doesnt want to play defense, they want you to shoot the ball so they can go the other way and shoot it too.

BasketBallonlyfan Wrote:Paintsville might be averaging 84 points a game, but I dont think they will hit it when they play Pikeville. Everyone is talking about how bad Valley shot tonight. If I can remember right, they only got two wide open layups for the whole game. I bet they only had 5 or 6 open looks at the goal without having a hand in their face. Pikeville will play tight D on Paintsville. I feel like if Pikeville keeps their same game plan against Paintsville that it will be a game. I think if Pikeville takes the ball inside early to Dev and Tim, get Paintsville in a little foul trouble, it could be a long night for the Tigers.
Gonna go with Paintsville on this one. Have seen Slone play with a hand in his face the entire game and didn't seem to matter. Paintsville by 11.

Pikeville by 4

Just my opinion and I base this on all the games I have seen the Tigers play this year. They need to run a 2-3 zone to start the game and see if Pikeville can shoot them out of it. That will keep Pikeville from attackin the basket like they did lastnight and gettin Paintsville into early foul trouble. Make them shoot you out of it.

Battle of THE VILLE'S tonight, should be a great game to watch. I've seen both of these teams play a few times this year and from watching Paintsville they love to get the ball up the floor and convert on fast break, Pikeville likes to slow the tempo down and make the other team play their type of ball from what I have seen. Pikeville will be riding a huge wave of momentum and will be confident coming into this one, but you can't count out the Tigers either. They have been playing the best ball in the 15th as of late possibly the state and they will be ready to play tonight. As for my prediction? Paintsville in a tight one all the way through
Paintsville- 85
Pikeville- 81
Good luck to both of these teams tonight in the Championship!

As people are saying Pikeville's D myt give Paintsville a problem. Well Slone puts up 25+ every game with a hand in his face. Also Grimm gets in the paints and puts up 20+ with 2-3 guys jumping on him every game. IMO Paintsville just has to many scoreing threats inside and out for the Panthers with the add of Bundy, Murry, and VanHoose be very lethal at any time.

I am glad Pikeville doesnt have a chance in this game. The same thing was said before last nights game and we know how that turned out...

Don't recall anyone saying they didn't have a chance, just that if Paintsville brings it's a game it should go in there favor.

I personally think Paintsville will control this game from the tip and win 77-54. The thing Pikeville needs to do is slow the game down as much as they can to have a chance! Pikeville played there A game and will face a better team that Valley IMO. Have to be tired and heart can only take you so far. Best of Luck to both teams!

I think it is important for Pikeville NOT to focus soley on Slone. He is going to get his points no matter what you do. Instead I think they should key on Grimm and try to take his easy baskets away. I think the Defense of Tim Honaker and Deven Adams will be the key factor for the Panthers. And they cannot afford to turn the ball over because that will be automatic points for Paintsville.

What defense do you think Pikeville will play? Zone and allow Paintsville to get looks from the outside and stretch the zone to find the buffer for the midrange and backdoor passes? Or will they try to match up man to man. Personally, I see big problems for them to try man to man.

I have saw both teams play and they both teams are very well coached and play hard. But I will go with Paintsville.

Good luck to both.

I have seen both teams play this year, and imo Paintsville is the better team.......but i also thought Shelby Valley was the better team the night before. But I still think Paintsville will win. I see a big game from Landon tonight, he always seems to pick up his game in big games.
Paintsville by 8......
