See, Valley can sub in Jonah, then Tyler Newsome, and then Cody Varney and not miss a beat, so Valley can afford to give some fouls this year, a lot of young guys have stepped up.

I just don't see Paintsville beating Shelby Valley. I'm Not saying that they couldn't because i know they can but Paintsville has many really good players but they all try and out do each other in every game IMO. If they would come together and play as a team and no one man game they would be a force to reckon with in the 15th.

I think Valley would by 10

Everyone keeps saying this. And who ever has seen them play this year will tell you that you are wrong. I have watched these guys play since they were 8th graders and they have never played like this. They are a diffrent team this season as far being a team. I'm not saying that they will beat SV and I'm not saying that SV will beat Paintsville. I just hope that SV comes in with the same attitude that their fans have, if or when they play. Cause if they do. That means they are overlooking the Tigers and that will play right into the Tigers hands. Both teams better be ready cause it will be a dog fight. IF it happens.

Everyone knows that it doesn't matter how bad someone beats a mutual opponent by. There are alot of factors that play into how bad you beat someone. First off Betsy Layne is pretty inexperienced and they may have played better against SV than they did against Paintsville since they have some games under their belt. Also SV played bad and were not hyped up at all, it was one of Paintsvilles first games and they were obviously excited. All I am saying is that it doesn't matter at all how bad they beat Betsy Layne. If SV is clicking they will beat Paintsville and if they play like they have in the past 2 games Paintsville will beat them. I think if both teams play to their potential SV wins.

I think this is pretty much a useless thread, yeah it's fun to debate but you really can't compare teams by the same opponent. One night you might be on and the next you might not be able to hit water if you fell out of a boat in the middle of the Atlantic. If everything works out the way it SHOULD, then we will get to see these two teams play in a few weeks.

Hahahaha yeah i know. i forgot about posting it. but imma stick to the tigers by 6 in ot. its gonne be a good thats for sure.
Also the tigers are playing a lot better. They are playing as a team to a point. Yes i said to a point. sometimes they get away from the we not me thing but soon pull it together. I look forward to this game being back forth. Close to the end. Good luck to both teams. May the best team win..

I would love to see this matchup. It seems each year when they should meet that Paintsville gets knocked off by someone. Valley would have the speed to stop Paintsville. The Tigers would have problems handling the pressure of Valley's press. But if they beat the press they would score alot of easy baskets with the great finishers they have.

IMO when these two play it will be a great game, one of the best this region has seen in a long time. I'm not gonna say Paintsville will win because these two teams are evenly matched and either team could win on any given night. This isn't even the best Paintsville team in the past 6 years. The team in 02-03 with Rutledge, Jarrell, Collins, Simpkins, and Rice would beat this years Paintsville team by 15+ but we think we are all world for some reason. I think this game would be a toss up because they are very even all around. It might come down to the x's and o's.

Can't argue there.
I was directin my post towards all those outside of Paintsville who act like EVERYONE from Paintsville thinks this bunch is the best thing since toilet paper, which is not the case.

I would probably be sitting in the gym when that happens. And I'd be sitting in the Valley section screaming my head off.

This is what I don't understand about people in this county. When ever JC made it to the State, I didn't go. But, I was glued to the radio rooting for them. Cause they are all from the same county and i wish nothing but the best for people from this county. this just flat baffles me.

Then I'd like to ask where you were during the last district tournament when JC played and P-ville cheerleaders and ball players were sitting with the team that was against JC at the time....cheering against JC and razzing the refs if they happened to make a call that turned out in JC's favor? Where were you when the P-ville cheerleaders were throwing things at the JC players as they ran onto the floor and hitting them on their heads?
I like alot of other people are tired of hearing how great Paintsville. I have heard it now for the last 4 years....it gets old after awhile. I knew a couple girls who went to Paintsville. They told me that from the time they were in kindergarten they were taught that they were socially, economically and mentally better than any student at Johnson Central. These girls still think that way. I think it is sad that kids are taught to be that way.

I was in the stands watching the game and not the kids. And as an adult we should be showing our kids how they should act. I didn't see it and if they did, well shame on them. remember they are kids. As every one knows I have one in each school and the one that goes to the school that you speak of, that this is teaching this, has never had anything like this ever said to him. Every single kid at Paintsville is stero typed like this and I think it is HOGWASH.
Instead of acting like one of the kids, we as adults should show them how to act. Sounds to me like someone needs to get the chip off their shoulder and do as a good friend of mine said...."One doesn’t need to throw stones when she lives in a glass house."

As far as the girls...If this is the way they were taught. Then why would they share this with you? Seeing that they thought that they were better. I just don't see it hapenning.

OffTheHook, man I remember my first day of kindergarten like it was yesterday. I was so excited that I was going to get to meet new people, had a pair of light-up shoes on, a Super Mario folder, and that mom packed me an extra Little Debbie cake in my Double Dare lunch box. As soon as I walked in the door there was a big poster hanging on the back wall and the teacher told us to live by these 5 virtues or we wouldn't get recess.
5-Don't eat the glue
4-Try to stay between the lines when coloring
3-Boys always need to put the seat down
2-Do not stick anything up your nose but a finger
1-Hate Johnson Central
Come on, no one teaches that at Paintsville and I'm sure no one teaches JC students to hate kids at Paintsville. Kids will be kids, its a rivalry, and some parents ag it on more than anyone. A lot of kids from both schools get along, hang out, date, and so on. If any teacher does promote the hatred then they need to be fired. I've been through the whole thing as both a student and an athlete, and its not as bad as what people portray. Its basically a game that the fans want to see and gives the kids something to gloat about until the next time they meet. If any one person hates an individual, without even knowing them, just because of the school letters on their jacket then they have some major issues.

AMEN. Sure you have some who think they are better than others, but there are some at JC also and every other high school you walk into.

Hilarious...
As for the last paragraph, you're exactly right. **** some of us grew up with the boys from JC playin little league baseball and we were all friends thru high school and still are. How many state tourney's did we go to and ALMOST win (we choked). **** some of these boys that are junior and seniors and even some of the younger ones from both schools DID win a couple state championships in baseball for their age groups. I don't see how anybody can sit there and say that kids at Paintsville are taught to hate JC kids.

Could be like the little boy a few years back that was on the Paintsville 9 and 10 yr old state championship team. He attended Central Elementary and wore his t shirt stating "state champs" on it. He was pulled infront of the entire class by the teacher and embaressed, for nothing!!!!
It happens on both sides. I grew up in the county and when Apple Bowl came around we were told whose houses to egg in town and cars to "jack" with. It was stupid. Don't call the kettle balck if your kettle is black with just alittle gold on it.

Based on the way Paintsville is playing at the moment they may have the edge over SV in the all a. I've reversed my opinion from earlier.
