June Buchanan 58 Hazard 53 - WYMT Classic

cheer_girl2007 Wrote:Great Win JBS! Glad you beat Hazard concerning how rude their fan section is toward everyone. Great job to everyone on your team and your fans for holding your tempers with the way their fans treated you. Good luck in the future and reclaim the 14th regional championship.

Hazard's rude pep section = High School Students
JBS's rude pep section = High School Students, A player's Mom, and many JBS alumni, etc.

I'm pretty sure the "student section" is for "students".

Yea I know what ya mean. Everyone says that all the Players is just Kids, well the Pep Section is also kids.

RavenBoy Wrote:The only rude people were the Hazard Pep Section and everyones pep section is rude if you get out of Eastern Ky. As for the game, Tate Cox did look good. Stepp was talking to many shots and missing them and almost cost them the game. Didnt use Collins either. If JBS would have played as a team they could have beat Hazard by 20 or 30.
This is a fair assessment of the game. The next time they play they wont be on tv and maybe some will play as a team instead of trying to get a college scholarship...This is the closest that Hazard will get this year because no more tv games.....

How wrong you are...I would bet the farm they meet two more times this year and Hazard will win one of those. You will not beat a Al Holland coached team that plays defense they way they do three times. So, UK96 which would you prefer to lose? The All A or the big one?

JBS will win any other games they play at least by double figures...Hazard had their chance to win a game and could not win even though JBS played bad...That was their only chance and if they do meet again it will probably be in the ALL A because I am not sure Hazard will make it to the finals of the region with their inconsistent play...I agree that Coach Holland is a good coach but he just doesnt have the players to beat JBS...This was their one shot and they blew it...It wont be close again....

I'm going to have to agree. Hazard played the slow tempo game which was part of their game plan. But JBS is just better. They beat Hazard at the pace Hazard wanted to play. JBS did NOT play well. Hazard came out fired up, and played very well. JBS will beat Hazard by double-digits from now on. I'll bet the FARM on it. Nice try Dawgs. :Cheerlead

Here we go with the trash talking from JBS people.

uk96 Wrote:Hazard is going to have to start putting teams away that they should be beating or they may not meet in the region finals. Hazard had two close calls and could have easily not made it to the finals of this one. They should surely meet in the ALL A but the region finals is more of a question mark. Hazard did suprise me in this game though because I thought the had been playing mediocre. I might be wrong but I think this is the closest that Hazard will get to JBS this year. Should be fun to watch.....
and yes cumberland should have been playing in the championship game that was all set up for hazard because the wymt knew that it would be a big money game.

This is the last season of Cumberland basketball and fans would show up in droves to see the Redskins in the WYMT Finals in their final year as a school, so respectfully, I'm going to say that your statement is horse. WYMT does a great job hosting this tournament, giving out scholarship money (that goes to area schools throughout the mountains, not just ones who have alumni with deep pockets) and creating a great atmosphere for basketball.

If you can't prove it - don't post it.

Congrats JBS! This one was a little closer than i expected.

I keep hearing how good of a coach al holland is. Send him to a small school and see how he does. Al holand has always had the players. He did not make them good they were good b4 he even got them. They could have won without a coach. I could have been the coach with half the players he had and won games. And i would bet the farm that you were one of those people there in the pep section that jetted out of the gym with 30 seconds to go embarassed cause you got beat.

I have to agree but for different reasons. There isn't a ref in the 14th region who has the balls to call a fair game for any team that plays Hazard.

If I'm not mistaken Al Holland is at a small school now.

I have heard alot of people say the same thing that refs are scared of Big AL but I dont know if that is truth or myth. Luckily for JBS 14th region officials will not be calling the region. I heard that AL has been lobbying to get 14th region officials but was voted down...
I dont think that refs will be a factor when they meet again..

I have no idea what you are talking about here. By the way it's coincidence.

Work harder Hazard and you will get better. When the new kid gets into the system and learns it Hazard will get better.
#52
Only thing that surprised me was the score being so close. anyway I figured JBS would have ran away with it. Congrats on the win JBS! Keep it up!
#53
lets just quit trashing people and pep sections, i wanna know what you think if these teams meet again for going to the all a who is going to take it. as a former player of coach holland i know its going to be hard to beat him twice, but it has been done, but coach holland in my knowledge hasnt been beat by the same team 3 times in one season before, so i say the next game will be even better between these 2, i can't pick a winner but its going to be a great game.
#54
I also don't see Coach Holland getting beat three times in one season by the same team.
#55
so benchwarmer do u think hazard needs to improve to keep up with jbs.
#56
With the addition of the new kid it will help down the road. He is still learning. When Hazards big man got his 5th foul to me was a big situation to over come. To answer your questoin, yes. But with Hazard they have a lot of room for improvement and they will get better.
#57
i agree, they got to get the new kid more playing time. but coach holland will get the kid more playing time as this season continues.i believe once these improvements are made hazard will have the edge. so do u think jbs has room for improvement

This was a great game, and even though our team was beaten, I couldn't be any more proud of the Bulldogs. After all, this game was simply for bragging rights and we are soon facing another battle in the All A Tournament closely followed by the Regional. I must say, it would be highly unusual for a team to win three out of three when they are so closely matched with their opponent. If we had to lose...the WYMT was the place to do it!

Also, the JBS team has been playing together for how many years? Since gradeschool, I believe, and the chances of them vastly improving in the future is slim to none. Hazard, on the other hand, is still young and we have added another quality player just this week. So, in all probability, Hazard will improve over the next few weeks with a projected peak during the Regional Tournament. I will take our chances, and as one of the previous posters said..."I'll bet the farm," that Hazard will win at least one of these games. By the way, where exactly is the farm located you are willing to bet...near Allice Lloyd College?

So, Bulldogs go forward and play with pride. You have a great coach, a devoted fanbase and the horses to win this race. Go Bulldogs!

Can JBS improve? Tough question to answer. Maybe a shot here and a shot there would be their only improvment. These kids at JBS have been playing high school ball together for what , 4-6 years. Can they improve? Not as much as Hazard.

Congrats to JBS! Not surprised by the margin because I know that Hazard is a good ball club.
