I really don't think if SV loses they have to shut up, they haven't been running their mouths for 4 years saying how good they are, and how they're gonna win region and then not doing anything about it. If Paintsville wins, no excuses need to be made just a big ol "It's about freakin' time"

I believe that once a win is in hand it is a decision whether not to run up the score or give scrubs playing time. That my be a mojor reason behind such a difference in scores.

You make it out to sound like EVERYBODY form Paintsville has been sayin that stuff for 4 years. Guess what, we ALL haven't. The only ones you see on here runnin anything is a couple students from Paintsville, not regular fans in the stands.

thnx buddy thats wat i was tryin to make in my point i was amazed by the fact they only beat betsy layne by 19 and paintsville the team most think cant beat valley beat betsy layne by 70 and didnt use there startrs as much as valley did. another thing i would give paintsville the upperhand with bundy being back and valley without taylor may cause probs in this game nothin agiasnt valleys team bu this will be close!

I really don't think there is big gap between the two teams. Either team could win on a given night and either team could win by double digits on a given night. They are both good teams, but neither is head and shoulders above the other.

ok heres my opinion i watched this valley team play tonight and barely beating a team like betsy layne by 19 and keeping your starters in I'm just saying paintsville beat them by 70 and if valley was to come out and play like tonight your looking at paintsville by at least 10 or more. I wanna see this valley team in sync in person before i make my decision on this but as of right now since watching both teams this would be the best game in a long time and everyone knows it. I'm not gonna answer until i watch valleys next game hopefully a better showing.

Good post! People need to get their facts straight before they get on here and ramble on. An opinion is fine, everyone is entitled to one. But yes Paintsville and SV are very capable of beating SOME teams by 70. Paintsville almost beat BL by 70 and could have by more than that if they had not taken their starters out. And of course we all remember the huge SV wins over David. As for being worn out, that is just part of the schedule. It doesn't get any better going in to March. So if a team gets that worn out that easy, they may have a problem come March.

I still won't post a prediction on the SV and Paintsville matchup. First, they both have to make the finals, which they should. But anything can happen. But assuming that they do, then we'll see who the best team is on that night. Simple as that. ALL teams have bad games and that can't be helped. I hope when Paintsville and SV do meet that they both have their A game so that we can really see who is best. Enough said!

Once again there are only a couple people who act like Paintsville is "all mighty". Why do you guys act like everybody from Paintsville thinks they are unbeatable. IMO when these two play it will be a great game, one of the best this region has seen in a long time. I think anyone who thinks either Shelby Valley or Paintsville will beat the other team easily is simply being a homer. These two teams are too good to get beaten by more than a few points by the other.

As of right now, SV has had a couple bad games in a row, while Paintsville is clicking, so I think if they played right now the Tigers would win. What will happen if they meet up in a couple weeks in the All A is hard to say, but it will be a fun game.

Who are you callin dumb? Nobody said Paintsville would beat Valley by 70. If you go back and reread the post he said Paintsville beat BL by 70 and if Valley played Paintsville the way they played BL, Paintsville would win by atleast 10.

I asked how SV would be without Newsome and some said it wouldn't make much of a difference because they had other players who could come off the bench and do just as good.

It was definitely be a match-up for the ages.
I think it could go either way, just depends on which team is playing better at the time.
Hopefully, neither Valley nor Paintsville gets too caught up in the finals match-up and overlooks an earlier opponent.
It'd be quite a bummer if the teams didn't get to play one another.

I think that people believe the reason Paintsville hasn't won the region is because they choke. That may have been the case two years ago but not anymore. The boys at SV are growing up and now I don't think it matters if Paintsville chokes or not, they just aren't as good as SV imo.

Good Post fusion. I like to think I know basketball pretty darn good. Like I said earlier and like you said above, these teams are evenly matched and it could go either way. I do think that if Paintsville shows up and plays like they are capable against Valley playin like they are capable, this game would go down to a last second shot and would be a VERY high scoring game.

:Thumbs: That's the biggest factor. The other factor will be weather or not Paintsville's startin 5 can stay outta foul trouble. Lexington Catholic exposed that weakness of Paintsville. When they got in foul trouble they quit playin defense. They would sit back and let Catholic come to them instead of playin the "in your face" and aggressive defense they have been playin all year.
