And why bring up a game played nearly 40 years ago in a little cracker box, outdated gym in Stanton against a Louisville school to attempt to prove a biased point???
Don't know what your problem is unless you are actually associated with Powell Co. Small gym + no rails + regional tournament + opposing fans jammed together = trouble. I remember that the ensuing reports etc. mentioned a lack of rails as a factor, so that is why I brought them up.

The game was on a nuetral court, with nuetral officials... and Valley came out on top 50-42. It happens.
Yeah it happens. What also happens is Rodeney Rowe said in his pregame interview on the radio the key to them winnin that game was to keep Shane Simpkins and Ryan Jarrell outta the game. Not even 1 mintue into the game I got called for 2 of the *****est touch fouls. Not even 2 minutes into the game Shane was called for two "reach" fouls. I got back in about midway into the 2nd quarter, am in there maybe 2 minutes and that's a stretch, another whistle while I'm standin strait up with hands in the air not movin an inch. Shane goes back in gets whistled for his 3rd foul before halftime. We both start the 3rd quarter, I get whistled for another ***** foul not even a minute and a half into the 3rd. Coach takes me out, 30-40 seconds later Shane is whistled for his 4th foul. We go back in halfway thru the 4th quarter with 4 fouls. About 2 minutes left in the game we are down 3, I get the ball on the post and make a nice spin to the basket, I go up, get hacked from behind, ball goes in, they call a CHARGE. I spun to the hole and jumped, Seth Kiser came runnin down and flopped, never had feet set or anything. It was a bull sh*t call. FOULED OUT. I played a TOTAL of less than 5 minutes the entire game. I averaged 27 minutues a game, avg. 9 points, 10reb. a game, not to mention I led the team in assists, FROM THE POST. Shane was our leadin scorer avg. 15-16 pts a game. He played under 8 minutes the entire game. I never blame refs, but this is one exception, it was bull sh*t. We had the 14th Region officials. The black ref was even caught ON FILM flippin off one of our fans. The tape was sent in to the KHSAA and not a **** thing was done about it.

Every time we lose it's the Ref's fault.
Prime example redneck, sounds like you have some specifics that should be investigated. This is exactly what I'm talking about. There should be someone that you can complain to that should be in a position to do something about it. If there is an official on video flipping off a fan then his license should be suspended.

And Powell's gym is not "small". It seats 3500, which is about what Breathitt's seats now that they renovated the gym and removed a lot of seating.

And when will the 14th Regional Tourney be held at Breathitt? (Breathitt is too small). I don't think that Powell is adequate to hold the regional. Kinda like Riverside holding the District.
Powell ain't alone, but I just mentioned them because 'the worst officiated games' that I've seen were held there. And yes, there is a history of it going back for several decades.

Well then the thread shouldn't say worst officiated game of ever. That implies that you want to know about which game we thought was. And to me thats what everyone is doing not just me there Eyenstine. Then you should have titled it Why people blame refs for their teams loss.

Out of your and Shane's 10 fouls, I thought 3 were legit without question, 3 were touch calls that could have been called or not, but that four of the fouls were absolutely bogus.
The worst calls I have ever seen, were in the '97 Semi State game between Paintsville and Highlands with just a few seconds left, Paintsville with the lead and inbounding the ball. Tackett comes of a screen and runs toward the inbounds pass, catches it and covers up the ball in antisipation of the foul coming and a trip to the charity stripe and put Paintsville in the Championship game.
Instead, he was hit from behind and knocked about 8 feet out of bounds.......They called Tackett for the foul and put Highlands on the line. That was bad enough but still down 1 point, on the missed FT attempt the Highlands guy grabbed McKenzie and jumped off of Josh's shoulder to tap the ball back in. Highland wins. We go home.

You would because you were a graduate of Shelby Valley and you despise Paintsville because they shelled your hind end when you took the mound against them. Don't sit there and say it wasn't you either because Josh Bentley told us it was. I wish Redneck would post the tape on youTube so you all could see some of the stuff that he is talking about. I never blame the refs either, sometimes they have off nights and sometimes they don't call it both ways. In this game Paintsville shot like 5 free-throws and Shelby Valley shot almost 30. I'm not going to say the refs cheated Paintsville that night, I'll just say they caught the Tigers on more touch fouls than any other game they played that season.

If you would have read the first post, you would know the exact point. If Alfus or someone wants to change the thread title, they're more than welcome to do so.. so that those easily confused with such 'complex things' don't have such a hard time understanding.
The title is meant to be a play on or quote from nearly every thread on here....
The losing team always says they were cheated. So, for future reference: I give to you.. my first post.
Quote:I've noticed a trend on here...
At least one person per thread/per game says that it was the worst officiated game they've ever seen. Most notably, when they're team loses. Coincidence? I think not.
Is the officiating that bad? Or are the spectators just that biased? (i'm goin with the latter of the two)
Where is it asked what game was the worst called game you've ever been to?
I'll let you ponder on this a while, and you can get back to me.

I played intramurals with Pat Tackett at PC ( on the same team), we got along good and still do. It's funny that he can even admit now that we are all outta high school but people like you who can't stand Paintsville can't admit it. It's also funny that after that game fans from all over the region, fans of different teams said the same things I did earlier. Shelby Valley kicked our butt in the 2002 region championship, I'm man enough to admit that. Why can't you be man enough to admit the refs gave the 2003 championship to Valley on a silver platter.

RR, don't feel too bad. I started a similar thread in the H.S. football forum a few weeks back, because so many people were getting on here blaming the refs when their team lost. I titled it "Ref Bashing", and I started the first post by asking why everyone felt the need to always blame the officials.
You know what happened? Exactly the same thing that happened here. Everyone got on the thread to moan and complain about how the refs hated their team, and cheated them out of some game. The discussion I was hoping to start never materialized.
