Let's hope it's more than just a few weeks. Also, why would the coach schedule a basketball game with P-Burg on the same day as our state football finals?

Coach Williams didn't make the schedule, Keno did before he left. I know this because the basketball team was involved in a tournament during the UK bowl game last year and Bart was not happy because he wanted to go. He told me personally last year that he would try all he could to leave the dates around New Years open for a bowl game this year, but what happens; the PIT is right in the middle of it.

OK so why didnt they have this last week during our bye week or why didnt they have it on saturday night? You dont see the football team having any type of function right in the middle of district tournament because Coach J has class and would NEVER do anything like that. Personaly I like Bart. My wife goes to church with him and our kids play together. But I just dont agree with the postioning of this event and if it isnt Barts fault then I am sorry for what I said earlier. However is responsible should be ahsamed of themselves. And to answer your question I do intend to ask Bart about it next time I see him as far as Billy goes Im not even going to waste my breath. And as far as hiding behing BGR names send me a PM and let me know who you are and Ill tell you who I am TOUGH GUY!!!!!

Listen to what people are saying!!! This event was scheduled around the game in hopes of more people attending both events. It is not the basketball program's fault that it was like 45 degrees and rainy, and that the game was over in the first 5 minutes...people just didn't want to stay for the end of it so they headed over to the gym early...and trust me, the main event did not start until aboud 10:30, more than enough time for people who stayed for the end of the game to move over to the gym.

My only question is this. The date was set two or three weeks in advance. The date was on the tickets that was being sold at least a week before it happened. It was on the radio before the event just the same as it was posted on here before the event. Why wasnt anything said before it happened instead of waiting until after it was over to take away from what was held? Anyone that was there will tell you it was a great show. The best madness I have ever seen.

Your kids play together??? I'd never bash anyone the way you have and then allow my kids to play with their kids. If I had kids, I'd want them to play with people I could trust. You've made Billy Rowe look like a saint!!! With friends like you...who needs enemies!!

If you had read all the previous posts you would know that teh Madness was originally scheduled for the night of the Paintsville game Oct. 17. The cheerleaders were both invited. It had to be moved because of the conflict w/football Senior night.

It doesn't relly matter to me anyway. It's not that big of deal. But, I don't believe that a head coach would leave his scheduling up to the AD, he will run it by the AD after he gets finished with it, but not let the AD do the scheduling. Come on!

Sounds like the intentions were good. I think why some people are upset, is that nobody expected everyone to leave early and go to the maroon madness event. But, the f-ball game was pretty boring.

I think it would real great if Mike Billiter did the PA system, he is rather good.

From what I am hearing, Mike will be doing all the games this year. Expect some but not all of what happened at the madness at each of the home games.

Quit worrying about it man, it is just basketball. What has that sport done for the school. Second of all I have heard nothing of this bickering between the two sports going on. So I say it isn't going on face to face at least. If there was something going on then don't we all agree that the super or the principal would do something about it? You know this thread WAS about Maroon Madness. If this thread were about any other school, and went in the direction this one has, it would have been closed A LONG time ago. It has jumped from basketball to football to who's kids plays with whos and to cheerleading.

The cheerleaders cheered the game into the third quarter. The junior high cheerleaders went down before the game along with girls junior high basketball team and both cross country teams. The cheerleading competition is one to qualify for nationals in Florida and was scheduled long before maroon madness. YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE POSTING.

Nobody is special that tries to destroy young men and women. So don't flatter yourself with these useless attempts of making him seem like a good guy. A big part of my life is kepping track of what is going on at my former school. When I hear about people trying to bring down one aspect of MY school it ****es me off. If you don't want to see "this garbage" then have your hubby quit being such a selfish little child. You take action toward your hubby but let him attempt to tear down the school your kids attend. Some parenting. You guys belong up at SV. I won't stop until I know that my kids aren't trying to be persuaded to quit this or just play that. It is getting ridiculous. It has gone on long enough so you just stop. Thes ekids are the only ones getting hurt. I don't want my son brought into the middle of this in a couple of years when he gets there. I don't want him to have to choose. You are only young once and I hope he wants to play everything but soccer. I am a huge supporter of everything but soccer at PHS and want them all to do really well in all aspects educational and athletic. Let these kids grow up and make their own decidions like they will have later in life. You never learn if you don't experience it yourself. GO PHS!!!!

I just wish that everyone that is complaining about it after it happened but not before would go and talk to someone who can change things. Complaining behind a user name on the internet wont change a thing. I can promise you that. So either step up to the plate, make a complaint fact to face with someone in a position of authority, or do like you did before the madness, keep quiet about it. If the BIG part of your life is keeping track of your former school...then buddy you need to get a life!! As far as I know, the Rowe's live in the city and own a business there too. Why do they belong at SV? Wouldn't they have to pay tuition to the county to send their kids there? Why would your son be in the middle of anything? haven't you taught him to have a mind of his own? My parents taught me not to let anyone persuade me to do anything I don't want to do! And speaking of making their own decisions, your child will be faced with all kinds of people in his life who will try to persuade him one way or another...it's a real-life situation. Having to decide if you want to play all sports or concentrate on one could be one of the frist major decisions a student may be faced with....they may even choose to play SOCCER instead of football! Why not? There's a lot more scholarships available to help with college tuition.
