Pike Central '07

Belfry Wins Wrote:You seen them play last year, year in and year out them and Belfry is pretty well even. Tolsia normally isnt quiet as good as Belfry though but close.

I whould love to see Tolsia and Belfry, that whould be a good game.

By the way PCC, I spoke to my friend who is very close to Tolsia program, he said they will be a pretty good team. But not a great team like they were last year. They loose some studs, but they have some nice young talent they are excited about.
#63
pcc will be 4th in district and loss first game...
#64
i will miss varney in the backfield but i believe the hawks will keep improving. Good luck.

Leslie will be a tough out for Pike Central. They return 20 seniors. They lost the Big 3 (Hubbard, Howard, and Baker) but will make up for that with an extremely tough and big line, some tough and quick backs, and the QB(Jimmy Joe Morgan) will be tough to defend. Add that all on top of the street fight mentality they brought to the field last year and will bring again, and this makes this a tough team to beat. This team forced a school record 30 fumbles last year, so that means someone was getting the licks laid to them, and this trend will continue. You know when you play Leslie, you're gonna get hit, thats why I love watching the Eagles!!!

Probably Cody Meade will take his spot at RB
Quirvon has made all c's, I have seen the report card and can confirm this

RB#2 Wrote:#5 wont be playing for the hawks this year and i know for sure...i talk to him everyday because he lives right beside me and he said that he didn't want to play for coach mac...hopefully the hawks will have a good replacement.
Quirvon doesn't live next to anyone, he lives in the boonies. I'm pretty sure he is rooted deep within the hawks!!!!!

hawkwild11 Wrote:the hawks will replace varney. they did not lose any lineman. merchant is a good football player but he was a big part of the hawks turnover problem last yea he averaged 4 turnovers a game last year for the hawks
I can remember about 4 turnovers during the whole season, what I do remember is that after the rest of the team gave up heart, he still played till the end!!! Pictures speaks larger than words.

Hawkman05 Wrote:it would be nice to have merchent on D, but he can be replaced. I heard that Meade will take over at Rb and also heard he was a better back than varney. They will have two good qbs to replace #5 and all the lineman and recivers are coming back, if the hawks are well conditioned, i see them giving some people a run for there money.
Wow, hawkman05, you sure turned quick on Merchant05...just before you believed in him to return. Every coin is valuable, but they do have 2 sides.

ComeFlyWithMe Wrote:Merchant was definitely the most talented and athletic person on the team other than Varney, Merchant's spot can be filled, but he as a player cannot be replaced.
Thank you, that is the same way I think about Merchant

The problem that lies on Buckleys Creek is there are some many students in that school that need to not only be playing football but any sport. When you walk down those halls there are so many kids that are built like warriors who never have stepped out on a field or court. It is really sad to see so many kids who have the potential to be noticed all over for what they could do but choose to sit at home playing video games. Another problem that lies there is at the middle schools b-4 Mac came in Johns Creek and Mullins only had a few kids coming out for football and they did not have very good coaching. Nothing compared to the coaching they had back in the late 90s and in 2000. They have the talent walking the halls at PC and feeder schools but the dedication that use to be there just isnt there any more.

I understand what youre saying and Ill admit we have the same problem at Pikeville. Theyre are kids who have enough talent to be good players but choose not to play. The reality of this situation is that IMO you dont want these kids on your team anyway. Football is the only sport where mentality has just as much to do with how good of a player you are as athletic ability. These kids that you talk about and that I see at Pikeville have already shown that they dont have what it takes to play the game by theyre actions. These kids arent people that I would trust in the 4th quarter with the game on the line. 'Cause in the end winners always win and cowards always quit.

All i was tryin to say is one person doesnt make the team, i would love to have Q on the field for us, but if hes not the season wont be a total loss!!

I do agree, it takes a team. I believe that the team should stick together till the end!!

yeah he lives next to me, i've grown up with this kid. He tells me that he don't want to play for the hawks, but i guess we will have to find out when season comes.

Well Quirvon did not make the trip to KCU this week for football camp so it looks like for now he will choose not to wear the Blue and Orange next season. Waste of talent if you ask me.

I think you need to get better resources, 'cause what I understand he was at camp. Talent unwasted!!!!

disciplinary wise.

Q doesn't have a disciplinary problem, he had a grade problem. Which is all cured up now.

Tolsia isn't quite as good as you are letting on..
I live right on the river and and I cover WV & KY, I do not see Tolsia being better than Belfry. For that matter I don't see Tolsia being better than Pikeville.
Tolsia beat ER 42-0.. yeah so what?.. Last time I checked ER isn't very good..
I do however think they still could beat Pike Central.. but like I said, I don't see Pike Central & East Ridge being that great anyways..
IMHO, there is only one team who could play out of WV AA in KY AA and be contenders every year, that being Wayne

Ohio Football>Kentucky Football>West Virginia Football

I played against tolsia and belfry last year, tolsia was a better team last year. But I have no clue about the upcoming season.
