Prestonsburg is the most improved team since the beginning of the sesaon. People shouldn't be surprised when they beat a .500 team now.

This is the 1st thing I've said about Magoffin County Basketball all season. If you can find one thing I've posted about them this entire season then please let me know.

Devin Rice went out in I believe early fouth/late third with an ankel injuyry. Eric was in foul trouble the second half. Magoffin played the second half with 1 senior and 3 sophomores and a junior! If magoffin would have shot 50% from the free throw line they would have one. Sorry performance by Magoffin on their senior night. But good luck to Clay, Devin, Nathan, and Eric to the rest of their career and their life. As for Pburg, they just played like they wanted it more. They are not near the team Magoffin is,agoffin just gave it away. This makes 2 games in a row that Magoffin gave away. But anyways congrats Pburg!
But anyway you cant use him being out for foul trouble and the other guy not playing as an excuse because Hughes fouled out 2 minutes after halftime for P-burg and Stevens fouled out halfway through the 4th so P-burg was also missing 2 starters during the heat of the game.

Congrats to the Cats.....glad to see them pull this one out. Magoffin, in order to make it past the first roung you'll need to learn to finish games....that's what seperates good teams from average/sub-par teams.

So much for Rice dominating Patton and Arnett being unstoppable and being able to take over any team at any time in the region. I new it wasnt going to happen. Magoffin just got out played tonight. Congrats P-burg! Keep it up.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuse but at least you had the guts to get on here after the game. Where is Lawrence, you guys talked a lot of smack your team couldn't cash tonight. Pburg had Hughes and Stephens foul out early in the 2nd half and Hall and Patton played with foul trouble most of the game ending with 4 each. I think you said thing like Arnett would take over anytime he wanted, guess he did want to this evening and talked about how Rice had 29 against a much better Powell well he only had 9 tonight. I know he got hurt early in the fourth and I really hope he is okay and can return soon but still only had 9 going into the 4th. The 2 that came to the Hornets nest and took over were Hall and Patton with 17 for Hall and 15 for Patton, MC had no answer for these 2 tonight. Pburg is the better team and proved on your floor during senior night.

Unofficial stats: Pburg Hall-17, Patton-15, Martin 10, Vance 8, Hughes&Stephens- 6, Clark-4. As a team shot 20-39 FT & 4-8 3pt; MC Francis-17, E Arnett-14, Rice & Sparks 9, Hunley&Lemaster-5. As a team shot 18-30 FT & 2-6 3pt. Cats 14 rebounds 2nd half MC had 7, 4 2nd half turnovers for the Cats, 7 for MC. So that excuse about bad freethrows beat the Hornets well the response is that bad freethrow shooting by the Cats allowed MC to be in the game at all. Just face it 15 X, Hussshhhmanzada, and Lawrence of no where, as you like to say YOU GOT SERVED AT THE HORNETS NEST ON SENIOR NIGHT!!!! Nice game Cats, work on the charity stripe and good luck in your remaining games. And to MC keep working and good luck in the 57th. I really hope the Rice kid is okay, looked like a bad injury.

Thank you alfus, finally we agree on something. Magoffin hasnt had a quality win all year and to get beat by a mediocre p-burg team especially on senior night is just plain sad. Magoffin is great at giving away games, congrats to pburg on the win.

Congrats Blackcats on your win. We all hope Magoffin can get healthy before next weeks Dist Tourn.

So Magoffin got beat by a mediocre p-burg team? Sounds like they are not mediocre. Looks like P-burg went on the road and shot more FT's than Magoffin.

Yea Magoffin got beat. I will admit that they played with no heart. Phillip Francis for Magoffin played a great game and so did Sparks, both young talents for Magoffin. But without the 3 scoring seniors Magoffin is a less than average basketball club. They had no one with experience when the game came down to crunch time. I congratulated P-burg. Patton outscored Arnett by 1. He has the worst post moves I have seen. He just caught the ball turned and shot, because Magoffin has no height and could do nothing with him. He played great D on Devin, ill admit that. But he did not shut down Eric Arnett. He took it to him and shot the ball right in his face. Most of them went in or he got fouled. Congrats to pburg and good luck next week.

I too thought Francis and Sparks played very well in fact I thought Francis made some big time plays keeping them in the game in some spots and the JV played really hard. Even though you are losing some very good seniors the future does look bright for the Hornets. So good luck and if both teams play hard they may meet again this year but if not look forward to some good games next year.

What does this have to do with Lawrence Co, they have beaten Magoffin Co. twice and have lost to p-burg once and beat p-burg once.

Nothing, I think you misunderstood. There is a poster called Lawrence on here that was saying things prior to the game yet hasn't been hear from since the game. I appologize if anyone thought this meant Lawrence Co, I certainly did not mean for it to sound that way.

P-burg was ahead when Magoffin had all starters in so you cant use the 3 scoring seniors out for an excuse. And if all mighty Rice is as good as you make him sound it shouldnt matter about hight. And if Patton is so horrible he wouldnt make it anyway, just admit it that Patton dominated Rice. Patton never guarded E. Arnett either so you cant say he didnt shut him down.

Good game from Prestonsburg. Patton done real well on Rice, and I was suprised that Pburg won cause Bobby getting fouled out in the 3rd quarter. Congrats Blackcats!

Lets see he was guarding Rice and you wanted Patton to shut down Arnett. Your excuses are empty. Get over it, Patton and Pburg defeated you on your own floor. I tell you why this is so hard for you to accept, you did not believe it was possible to lose this game. Again, you are jealous of Patton, he owned the block on defense and Magoffin had no answer for him on offense. In fact Patton picked his fouls up trying to guard the players that got by the guards from Pburg. You make the win much more enjoyable.

Eric really dint get play much of the game cause of fouls.
Hornets i hope devin gets back before districts

BeaverCreek Connection Wrote:Well 15th, here you are again bashing Patton. Did you watch the same game, Eric Arnett was SHUT DOWN by Patton. Patton out scored him, out rebounded him, and had 5 or 6 blocked shots.
Sorry to tell u but Patton is nothing his D is all he has and that is'nt much.
BAD BAD post moves he had one good post move all night and it was a foul cause he hooked the defender all his points came off of boards and I thought Nathan Arnett someone 5'10'' or 5'11'' done a great job on him. He also needs to work on his free throws, ugly.....
But you have to give him credit where credit was due he did hold his own on the defensive end, i think it was more of Devin not wanting to take it to the goal cause he didn't think he would get the foul call tho. But either way it was a nice win. I was more impressed with the #10 Hall and his crazy shots, he was pretty emotional but he kept them in the game.
With no scores in the game most of the 4th quater im surprised Magoffin kept it as close as they did. Good luck Magoffin seniors, hope Rice and Fletcher are back for districts or they arnt going any where.
Also a nice game for the young guy from Magoffin, came off the bench scoring double digits I hadnt saw this young man play all year. I think his name may have been Sparks not forsure someone correct me if I'm wrong.

something else i saw that the refs missed some how were the pulling of a magoffin co players jersey and almost a bulldog jerking eric arnetts head off i think it was #4.. then laughed about it. P-burg is a dirty team.
