Landon Slone is probabley the best I have seen this year.

Last year I thought Pugh (Paintsville) was the best defender in the region and Meeks (Johnson Central) was the second. Meeks hasn't played alot yet, but could regain his shape by district.

Tonight Meeks showed that his defense was very rusty and showed some real weaknesses... I remember Meek was guarding the block in transition and the ball was rotated to a player from Pike Central that was on his wing. Meek ran out to close out and guard him, and the Pike player drove in the lane around Meek and left him at the three point line all by himself. It really made him look silly... He'll get back into it though. GOOD WIN EAGLES. LETS SEE THAT HERE IN A CUPLE DAYS AGINST PAINTSVILE!

IMO......Landon Slone gets a lot of help to be a good defender it has to be a very clear foul before the refs will call a foul on Slone. Hand checks don't exsist when it comes to slone.

Definately have to put Elisha Justice up there. He plays really tight defense, he really is a good player in the press, makes it tough for a lot of teams to get the ball across half court.

Don't think so... Why can't I state my opinion with out being "jealous" he just gets way to much credit. I'm not going to deny his offense ability, I would go to say the best in the region but I'm not convinced that he is the best defender.

A lot of people think others are jealous of Landon. I myself think that he is a excellent player but he just gets way to much praise on here. Either everyone on here is from Paintsville or he is the next Michael Jordan or Lebron maybe.

I dont see how you can have a best defender. Some names have been mentioned such as Landon, Elisha, ect. I dont think any named so far would be a good post defender. There are more to guard than just the person bringing the ball up the floor or on the wings. I dont think there is a true defensive stopper in this region this year.

Personally I think J.D. Vanhoose is a better defender than Landon Slone ( in no way am I trying to "bash" him ) J.D. can guard anyone on the floor, he is quick enough to guard a guard and tough enough to bang it out down low, but of course that is just my opinion. :moon:

J.D. is nowhere near fast/quick enough to gaurd ANYONE on the floor. He couldn't gaurd any point gaurd I have seen play this year.

Actually I believe that Grimm is the slowest guy that Paintsville has. JD is a decent defender.

Well I finally got to see Crum play this year and I was not impressed with his defense. I was impressed with his ball handlin abilities tonight though, if not for him pretty much single handidly breakin Paintsville's press a few times Paintsville prolly woulda come back and won the game.

Yeah... i know everyone has thier opinion , but Tyler Brewer from lc has locked down mcarty twice this year and held most teams best players to single digits.
