This doesn't suprise me. O.J. is a THUG. What did he get the technical fouls called for?
01-28-2007, 08:39 PM
I saw that home video of the alleged push and it looked to me like the ref faked that big time.
01-28-2007, 09:31 PM
there was like minimal contact between mayo and the ref, he was barely touched, i believe he wont be in trouble at all if the athletic association looks into this closely and makes a fair decision, the ref is just trying to get national attention.

He got on a fast break and jumped from just a little inside the free throw line and dunked over some one. While he was in the air that guy pushed him. So he was looking at the guy like he was going to kill him and they gave him one tec then he walked to half court and someone said somthing to him so he pushed him and then all the players ran out there and broke them up and they threw him out. Then he went over to the ref and thats when it started.

Heat of the moment! Was it a cheapshot in reality though?

There is a poll on this on http://www.wsaz.com if any one wants to vote.
The poll is
After seeing the home video of the HHS - Capital basketball game, do you think O.J. Mayo deserved the two technicals?

K,,Just seen it..And I think O.J. got the shaft! And that ref,,WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

I can't see how anyone thinks he should have received the T or anything else after seeing the footage tonight on the news. I believe they have it on the wsaz.com also if anyone wants to take a peak.

when u got 2 teams playin basketball, theres always some TENSION between players. But the referee is a good actor, he should play on a soap opera.

Wow...first of all I applaud Huntington High for upholding the rules even though it could cost them that elusive national championship. That speaks very highly or them. But after watching that video of the ejection, I must say that I am in shock. I don't really even like O.J. Mayo..but he deffinitely got screwed. I have to admit I'm pissed just by seeing officials act in this way. I think O.J. deserved the first T. I'm not really sure what he did the second time. Maybe he said something to a ref, but I never saw his mouth move, I just saw him walk through the pile of people. And as for him knocking over the ref, that was the biggest flop I've ever watched. I've taken much more contact than that walking through a crowded hall way back in high school. That was ridiculous. Somebody shoulda taken that ref out back and smacked his *** around becuase that was awful. I just watched it again..you can actually see the ref take a step to the side before he falls over. This is the most pitiful thing I have ever seen as far as officials are concerned.

After watching the video.. Its obvious.. They are just doing that to OJ to make him look bad... There shouldn't have even been a T thrown, after watching the Capital players do the samethings.. This just wrong.. Charleston gave Huntington the shaft.. They tried thier best to steal this game away from HHS..
Why do people have to be so jealous..

Where can I see the video of OJ getting thrown out?

He should be suspended. If it is a rule that if you get ejected then you sit out 2 games, then it should definately be enforced no matter who it is. Like someone said earlier, Patterson had to sit two games last year after he was ejected from a game, why is O.J. any different.
01-29-2007, 01:43 AM
OJ wasn't on the team bus that left for Duke this morning.. But H'Town is appealing the call.. so there is a chance the right thing could be done, and he could play Tuesday night.. I think this is a really low thing... That ref should not call another game in WV or anywhere.. that is horrible, trying to hurt a young mans image..

Its not that they are trying to overturn the suspension.. They are trying to overturn the ejection.. Even the head of WVSSAC said after watching the video it is a very questionable call, and will determine the ruling after the game report is in.. which should be tomorrow they say..

After watching over and over I would have argument about the second technical and for me even the first was questionable of course I may be a little battle fatigued with these t's getting handed out fairly easily the last few years. Watch the video and and where the steps are taken towards the scorers table and see if it isn't possible that Mayo's foot stepped on the refs and could possibly have caused him to accidentally fall. He should not have been near the ref in the first place but it was a pretty weak call. I think I've been watching too much CSI.

Well, I don't think that there is a ref in the 15th Region that has screwed anyone player or any team any more blatantly than in the HHS/CCH game!! I really thought that we had some of the worse refs, but not anymore!! lol
OJ could have been a little angel in the game and never opened his mouth and never went near the ref. BUT why is it fair to allow CCH to taunt, which can be seen on the tape, and trash talk and expect no to be called for a T as well. And how many times have we seen our own players here in the 15th walk up to the ref to ask about a call? Maybe they shouldn't, but no harm is intended and the refs usually are willing to explain it. I sure couldn't see OJ do anything to the ref, my gosh he even had his hands and arms out to each side when the ref went down. That is ridiculous and I sure hope that that ref stays in WV. Actually he should retire if he falls so easily!! The Charleston fans really must have bought and paid for that one or I must need new glasses! lol

I watched the video as well and I felt that Mayo didn't deserve the second T and that the official walked into Mayo and flopped. The WVHSAA should review this tape and do something about the ref

I know for a fact that Rose Hill would have loved to have kept him, and I would guess that he left NCH b/c of Walker leaving. As for Oak Hill, I have no idea, but since he never attended Oak Hill he couldn't have been kicked out.
OJ can be handled, it was Walker that was the biggest problem for NCH.
I also know that he wasn't kicked out of NCH.............. people just enjoy starting trouble...... it's annoying

I watched the video last night and this morning. What I saw was a technical called for a player show boating. He dunked, then carried the ball past the free throw line before dropping it. The second, he appeared to walk back into a crowd of players from both teams, like he was going after someone or trying to intimidate someone. The second whistle was a little fast, but the video only shows about 45 seconds of a 32 minute game. Who knows what was said or done in the three quarters laeding up to the technicals. Maybe the officials had enough mouthing from both teams. Maybe both teams had been getting a little to physical with each other and they felt they needed to get it stopped.
I agree with the first technical, the second may have been a result of something he said or did earlier in the game. The fall by the official from the video I saw had nothing to do with any upper body bumping. Now what happened down with the feet I have no idea, but the tumble seemed to be a little overboard.

Then you should have seen the Capital players.. Not one time did any of them get technicals... Its no secret this game wasn't called fair.. Hence the fact that Huntington had 46 fouls called against them..

Like I said....this tape was only 45 seconds long, and it's hard to say what happened in the first three quarters. I'm sure there was lots of things said from both sides to make an official call the T's and quick as he did. You right, it looks lopsided, I wasn't at the game, then again I wasn't on the floor so I have no idea what was being said between both teams.

I just watched that....... Mayo didn't even touch the guy!!!!!!! It literally was hard to tell if he even brushed him, more less pushed him over!!!!

This ref should have his licensed revoked IMO. What a joke.
For those of you that called Mayo a thug before seeing ANY of this...shame on you.
