Dance Teams

i havent seen many dance teams but mc still good

then MC should enter more dance competitions to show how good they really are. The only time I saw MC was at winterfest last year. I haven't much about them since. Have they been in anyother competitions last year or this year besides MAC?

In the 58th P-burg has a really good team! They are all very hard working & dedicated. In the 57th Magoffin has a really good team as well. I know a few of the girls on there & they've worked really hard to get where they are.

Yes. Last year we (MC) entered Winterfest where we placed 1st in every category as well as Smoky Mountain Dance Competition where we were Jazz Division Champions. This year we're entering numerous competitions.

Imo Phelps Has A Great Dance Team . I Don't Know Who Has The Best Team Thou But I Do Know Its Not Pike Central I Heard Its Because There Coach Won't Let Them Do Alot Of Moves And Other Stuff Some Of The Other Teams Do And Thats Really A Shame Because They Have Some Girls With Alot Of Talent Like The Coachs Own Daughter Go Figure Anyone Know If This Is True If Not My Bad.

-Pike Central is a little strict on what they do. They only dance to our band's music at games, except for Hawk Night when they perform the traditional Micheal Jackson routine (which is really entertaining). The only other time they dance to recorded music is when they compete. They are not a bad team at all.

They have TONS of talent, they just don't show it off. But I do admit that they need to smile a whole lot more!!

Thanks for the info, I love the Michael Jackson routine also it rocks, They do have alot of talent on that team, Do you know why there rules are so strict

I saw Phelps perform tonight and they were wonderful!!!!!!!!!! I knew they had brought home a few trophies from Gaitlinburg and I would have to say they were well deserved!!!! Wasn't that Nationals? They were good last year but I think they have outdone themselves!

Cograts to the girls!!!! You know, I watched Pike Central's dance team perform tonight and I have to say, they have improved since they've stolen some of Phelps' dance moves!!!!:dontthink However, they have a loooonnnnggg way to go before they can ever compare to Phelps!

I have to agree!! I guess if ya can't beat em' join em!!! I noticed some of the KAPOS routine looked A LOT like some of Phelps' dance teams moves.... BUT.... Phelps has one of the top dance teams in the state... IF not the top!!!

Magoffin Co. has an excellent dance team. They are very talented. I've seen the Prestonsburg dancers and they were pretty good as well.

Now, they may be good, but I don't know if I would go as far as to say that they have the top team in the state. You have Assumption and Louisville Male that have storied traditions and countless National Titles from UCA who produce amazing teams year after year, and send their girls to compete @ the collegiate Division I level for some great dance teams. Phelps may be really good in comparison to those who surround them, and that's awesome...but I don't think I would throw it out there that they are the top dance team in the state! That's just a bit much!:thumpsup:

Well.... JUST THIS YEAR..... A National Title in Hip Hop and Prop AND.... 1st place in the STATE ALL A Dance IN Richmond what..... A couple of weeks ago???.... IMO.... they ARE the top Single A dance team in the state.... Granted.... they MAY not be able to compete with 5 and 6 A schools BUT.... who around here could?? No one that I have seen...

I didn't realize that we were just talking Class A schools...in that case, they may be the best...I have no idea! I thought you were saying that in the entire state, across all class lines, they are the best. My misunderstanding!

Thank you so much. We'll be performing at this years district competiton so everyone keep your eyes out for that. That crowd is always great at those games and it's really fun to perform at those games. And yes, we are the best.

Are Assuption and Louisville Male school teams or all-star teams? You know, it's easy to take the best girls from all schools and make 1 all-star dance team. Our girls made up their own routines. They had no help from professional choreographers. Their choreography is their own!!! Phelps is a single A school, and they beat every "all star" team in the national competition. So, yes, I would consider them the best in the state!!!! :thumpsup:

Like Phelps Dancer said, they will be performing in the district tournament so come see for yourself. I promise, you'll get your socks knocked off!!!!

Assumption and Louisville Male are both school teams. I'm not sure about Male but I do know that Assumption does their own choreography and it is truly amazing. Even though Assumption is a larger school they still usually have only 12-15 girls on their team are in the top 3 every year at UDA nationals which is the largest school dance nationals in the country. I would love to see Phelps attend Jamfest Super Nationals in Cincy next year to see how they would fair agaist more competition and stronger competiton than they saw at Gaitlinburg. I attended it this year with my all-stars and there were some amazing school teams especially in the hip hop category. Maybe if they had a good showing at a much bigger nationals then people in the area would respect them more.

Well believe me if we, Phelps, went to super nationals we would be just as good as any other dance team there. We would have loved to go but since we have a small school and a small squad money gets tight and thats alot to raise. Plus our dancers are also the cheerleaders and cheerleaders needs money just as bad as dance do, so we have it rough. But hey, it all pays off in the end.

Phelps Dancer, I have to agree with PHS95....you all have nothing to prove!!! There's a reason why you guys get "standing ovations" :Clap: EVERYWHERE you go! Some people can't stand to see such a small school succeed....they're always saying someone else is better! Well, I'm here to say....I'd put you up against anybody because you have yet to let me down!!!!!
