Best Point Guard in the 15th?
#31
The best true point guard in the 15th region is E. Justice from S.V. He does not have to pick up his offensive game to be the best point guard in the region. They are beating teams to death he doesn't have to score and that's his mentality. That's a true point guard's mentality. When they start playing tougher comp. he will have to score a little and he will. And whoever on this thread said he needed to mature and he doesn't see the floor well. LMAO... He see's the floor better than ANYONE in the mountains. Maybe you don't see the game very well. Possible the only D1 player in the mountains if he grows some.

:lmao: You obviously don't the see the games very well and obviously haven't seen EVERY team in the mountains play. There has already been one player commit to D1 this year, and he won't be the only one in the next couple years.

basketballjones Wrote:I don't think that argument is a good one since Valley hasn't played any competition, however I do believe he is one of the best in the region.

Still when he was in 8th grade last year i remember one time he had 18 points against a good team

i agree e justice is the best true pg in the 15th

He's started since 8th grade but IMO he struggles with his decisions.

I agree he tries too be fancy sometimes which leads to a turnover.

yea i agree with you,but he still is the best imo

Hey Redneck who's the player and to what D1 school? When I say D1 I don't mean someone who commits to EKU or Morehead and sits the bench like most from this area. :dontthink I mean someone who will actually help that school. My bad for the lack of input. Who's the last player from this area who actually helped a D1 team? Don't give me players who go D1 then transfer back to Pikeville!!!!Smile I wonder if you have ever been out and watched real basketball?

I'm sure he has played against some real basketball. OJ Mayo, Bill Walker, Brandon Stockon, and several others. To answer your question about the last 15th Region player to make an impact on a team at the D-1 level, you would probably have to go back to JR VanHoose. He was first team All-Mac several seasons, was the NCAA leader in Double-Doubles his Junior and Senior year. After him, no one in the 15th has went to a Division 1 school.
#40
Yes I know Vanhoose I played against him and he was the last I remember making a contribution to his team at that level. Who was his teamate that went to UK. Tackett? Yeah didn't he transfer somewhere else or did he end up playing baseball. I never said has he played against real players I asked did he watched real basketball. Mayo and Walker I've seen them play. They are in the 1% that will make it to the NBA. If they did not change the rule they would have skipped college.

Oh I missed that last one Brandon Stockon. LMAO Yeah he was Great just can't quit laughing at that one:lmao: !!!!!!!

First off, you didn't say THIS AREA, you said IN THE MOUNTAINS. And the man I speak of is the boy from South Laurel who has already committed to Notre Dame, and YES, he WILL make an impact at ND. Not only him but Daniel Dillon who played at North Laurel plays guite a bit at Arizona. Buddy I have seen lots of basketball and have played against guys that went or is going D1 like BIGBLACK said.

He was Kentucky's Mr. Basketball in 2002. Sure he may have struggled early on, but became a key role player for UK last season. When was the last time a Shelby Valley player won Mr. Basketball or played at a Major D-1 school? I rest my case.

Just because wymt says South Laruel is in the mountains it's really not. And your referring to Ty Profitt. Well if you have watched him play in the State Tourney the last two years he has gotten slower. He won't be an impact player. Whole new level of basketball there. North Laurel is located about 6 miles from South so it's not in the mountains either. As for Stockton he's horrible I watched two mountain boys from Whitesburg light his butt up in the All A in 2001. That would be Brandon Brock and Bryan Howard. I'm not from the area so I really have nothing for any of the teams if your referring to me being a S.V. fan. I have just seen the Justice kid play and he's gonna be tough. As for playing against D1 players Redneck that's great. I played against them for four years. I've been around too.

I'm sitting here talking to Bryan Howard on the phone right now, and he said that he never played against Stockton. It was Ravi Moss and University Heights, and Whitesburg lost on a last second shot. Just thought you might like to know.

I tend to disagree with Ty Profitt and the word "slow" being used together in the same sentence. If u remember back when they won state he guarded Jujuan Spillman, one of the fastest and quickest guys i have ever seen play ball, and Ty held his own. SO there is no way Ty Profitt is slow. O yea did I mention that Jujuan Spillman was one of the best kickoff returners in the nation? So im pretty sure hes fast. He did also play Oj and Bill and didnt do to bad of a job. And they are both D1 commitments and more than likely future NBA players.

I. Justice is good but im not to sure about the slone kid....

I stand corrected. It was Moss, who was the better player Moss or Stockton? You do the math. If you watched Profitt last year you will know he has gained weight and did he perform the same way is last years state tourney. We'll see if he plays better at the college level. It remains to be seen. South is still not a mountain team. For some of you who never played at a higher level you do not have to be quick to guard someone it's all about position. When you have the ball in your hands and your slow your easily guarded. Look at Profitt last years numbers in the tourney. I've guarded people who are twice as quick as me and been successful. That's was years ago though. I'm fat and slow now.:yikes:

Elisha Justice (SV) and Jaryed Crum (JC)

I would have to go with Jaryd Crum because he is just so quick.. like at the sf he was no where in sight and then he was just there and got the ball and took off but my vote goes to jaryd crum along with watchinyou

Jaryd Crum has impressed me the most at the pg position
#52

Johnson is not there point guard. But could be very easily. He does very good when he runs the position.

Justice and Crum

i agree with u homer

You're crazy.

:lmao: OUT OF CONTROL? Crum nevers plays out of control.Blake Bundy is really the only point guard that plays out of control IMO!! He drives the lane and either throws the ball away or puts of some type of garbage shot that has no chance of going in!!!

Justice and crum....they make great choices with the ball and are very quick on there "D"
