Great game Eagles! In my opinion Belhousen and Taylor are the MVP's. You've got your hands full next week against a very good Rockcastle team. Play with your heart and trust your talent. You've made the whole community proud! Congrats to Coach Matney on a healthy baby boy!

The comment was about being beat at HOME,, and how close Belfry cam last year,, and ASHLAND last year.. playing at home makes a difference but coming to play is the key, no matter who you are or what THREAD you are typing on... The reason I used that game was to prove a point..

Great Game Central! Congrats!

sounded like a good game from I heard on the radio. I can't believe JC pulled it out with 11 seconds left in the game. I thought it was going to go into overtime by the way the radio annoucers were talking until JC started driving that final drive down field. By the way the announcer from Ashland(we all know who he is) said that there was no way that JC was going to beat Rockcastle Co. next week.

Congrats Johnson Central

Congrats JC on the hard fought victory and Ashland on being the first to even come close to beating JC. I think that JC came into tonight over confident thinking they would run all over Ashland again. The O-line was very slow getting off the ball as was their D-line. Ashland's D totally shut Grimm down, I don't think he had a gain over maybe 10 yards, and most of his carries were for loss or very short gains. I'm for JC all the way, but they are gonna face a much better D next week in Rockcastle County, the O-line better get it together this week in practice. Rockcastle also has a very successful running attack, so the D-line better get it in gear too. Tackett and Dials need to take it easy this weekend and let their injuries heal, cause they are gonna have to be healthy next week if JC wants to win.

So true on injuries last year in Ashland. That is what lead to Ashlands D downfall Aaron Cordial one of the DE's. Who were playing with a groin injury ended up tearing it towards the end of the game injury free will lead to a very good game.

Congrats to the Eagles on the W tonight, and congrats to Ashland on a great season and hard fought game... Good luck to them next season and good luck to JC next weekend

This one was one of the best games I have seen this year. Ashland did their home work even with the lost to JC they had JC's #1 running back in there back pocket all night. JC will have their hands full with Rockcastle friday night good luck JC.

EKY Sportster Wrote:Congrats to JC on another win!! The Eagles came very close to ending their season tonight. A couple of mental lapses by Ashland and 2 big TD passes in the 4th is all that made the difference. But I think that this will be good for the Eagles, because from this point on, I would think that ALL of the games will be close. And that they have a decent passing game that can produce points when the running game doesn't produce
I was glad to see the real Tomcat team show up this time. And congrats to the Tomcats for making this a great game. You almost pulled it out. Nice season!
The Eagles showed one thing tonight that they haven't shown all year - that they can win a close one and that they can come from behind. That is going to be crucial if they want to keep on tract to Papa Johns. Whatever else the Eagle players do, don't listen to the fans saying you can't be beat on your home field, because you can. You almost were tonight. This game could have very easily have been the Eagles last. You have to play each and every week and the competition will only get tougher from here on out. But it is good to see that the Eagles found a way when they had to.
Both teams deserve a lot of credit for a great season!!! I do think that the Eagles are the better team to represent the District in the playoffs this season, because if they played Ashland 10 times they would probably win 7 of them. So good luck next week JC. It will take a VERY GOOD effort to send Rockcastle Co. home with a loss!!

Congrats JC! Congrats to Ashland too you guys beat Russell, Belfry, and Pburg. So theres no reason to keep your heads down. Good Luck JC against Rockcastle.

Congrats JC on the win and to Ashland for an outstanding season. But if JC wants to beat Rockcastle they better play better than they did against Ashland.

Well... Im emotionaly drained after this one!!! Sheww what a game! I got to be one of the ones on the track behind my team, reminded me of my sophomore year on the team when i didn't play much ahah! But Congrats to both teams on a heck of a game! I personally feel like Ashland won this one dispite what the scoreboard showed! I felt like the guys from footlocker were a little flag happy towards us but i guess you'll have that sometimes! The half-back reverse pass was a good call; they hadn't done that all year as far as i know and the hitsquad didn't see that on any of the films! Ashland played the game of their life thats for sure; not trying to make excuses or anything but i would've love to see how this would've turned out at Putnam! But i guess as bad as i wanted this one for my buddys everyone has to loose some time or another! Congrats to both teams and JC i hope you can keep on rollin to show the state how we play football here in eastern kentucky!

Great win JC!!!! Ashland I salute your effort, this is the best High School football game I have ever seen, I know their were some mistakes by both teams but also some exceptional play by players from both schools. JC bring home the "W" against Rockcastle! High School Football, you gotta love it this time of year!
11-12-2006, 05:57 PM
Ashland came a long way from the last meeting between these two
11-13-2006, 04:17 AM
Tomcats! Don't hang your heads. You proved on the field that your as good as anyone in the state. How Mahan made that pass to Thomas I will never know. That was simply amazing! Congrats to the Eagles on a hard fought victory. This could be the game that keeps JC humble as they now know they are beatable. I hope the best for JC, however Rockcastle will be very tough.
