That said, this is SO DIFFERENT than 03 or 04.
IMO, both teams are skeletons of the past.
What I will say is this: Corey Chapman is perhaps the most underrated TB to ever line up in the Belfry wishbone. He isn't David Jones or Doug Howard, but he is a very good TB who will, IMO scored on a couple long TD runs against Pburg.
I ultimately HAVE to give respect to the BLACKCAT PLAYERS, even if I think Derossett will fail to lead his team to a victory for a 8th time in a row!
IMO this is perhaps the most important game amongst local teams regardless of rank. Prestonsburg and Belfry are small communities who buy into this game. Belfry has become used to winning, and Haywood will continue the trend.
It takes a mature mind to realize what this game means, but post by BC75 encourage me. This game ultimately means more than Belfry v Pburg, and ACTUALLY means football in the mountains means something.
I don't know if your insulting me or not, your post left me confused. But your choice of the word "viable" intrigued me, so I looked it up.
Viable-sufficiently developed to be able to live outside the the uterus.
So I really don't know what your trying to say?
But I do agree with you 100%, this is a totally different game, and the outcome you speak of wouldn't suprise me a bit. With that being said, the opposite outcome wouldn't suprise me either. Like I have said many times before, I respect this program to the fullest, and I will support the winner of this game till the end of the season.
Also if this is a personal attack on me, there is no need to tell me that football in the mountains means something, I lived it for four years and I know exactly what it means.
Also if I may ask, how do my posts encourage you?

Good luck to both teams!!
The sign does say Belfry vs P-burg. Before Friday, it read Belfry vs SV so I don't know.....

Both teams have great coaches. Both are great teams. Look for the weather to play part in the decision. If it is cold and rainy with a slick ball, go with the Pirates, if it is clear and chilly go with the Blackcats. According to the weather channel no rain after Wednesday, so my pick is Blackcats by one TD. Good luck to both teams and no injuries. Whichever team wins, I hope they bring home a state championship to the mountains.

I don't quite understand your logic behind the weather? Secondly, weather conditions really play little effect considering this game will be played at CAM.

I'll put my Pike County support for the Pirates.

Belfry BY 2 or 3 tds.
11-08-2006, 11:57 AM
Belfry will win it and end up getting beat next week. But for this week definately Belfry. I just dont see P-burg being able to beat SC and Belfry one right after the other.
11-08-2006, 01:32 PM
P'burgs chances rests with their O and D lines. Which is by the way their weak spots. If they perform better than they have all year, they will stay in the ballgame.
11-08-2006, 03:24 PM
I'm hoping the Pburg will win this one. That being said, I really can't make a prediction because I just don't know how this one will turn out. Anything can happen to either team friday. I'd like to say Pburg will win but I just can't be sure on either decision.
Get 'em Blackcats!!!

Have to go with my Pirates!!!irateSho
11-08-2006, 07:39 PM
I believe that the Pirates are going to take this all the way...I think that P-burg will come in and make it a good game but when the second half starts Belfry will dominate with the score of 31-14
11-08-2006, 07:42 PM
Prestonsburg has two key injuries going into this game. #51 OL/DL/LS Sam Chaffins has a broken hand. #33 DB/RB Lincon Slone had his hip popped out of place during the SC game. Both will more than likeley still be playing though.
11-08-2006, 08:22 PM
It shouldnt affect Pburg though.
11-08-2006, 08:43 PM
Belfry 28
P'burg 12

Go Pirates!!!!!!!!! They will win with a knockout victory on the way to state!!!!!!!

I believe Heywood will give Derossett a lesson Friday night, if they are lucky they will get Ivan Lee and the guys early in the fourth, but then he may pour it on. Then that is not like the coach.
11-08-2006, 09:39 PM
No insult man. "Viable" was a poor choice of words.

This game is going to be one heck of a game. Belfry has been preparing for it all week very hard and I heard school spirit has been great. I'm sure tomorrow the pep rally will be wild. I cannot wait for tomorrow night. I beleive it going to be a good game but the Pirates will win by 2+ touchdowns.
Senior Corey Chapman, really has to step us his game tomorrow night and I think he will. He knows what he has to get done and I'm almost positive he will get it done. He's been in these game situations before and he knows what it's like.
As for May we know he's going to get 4-5 good yrds about anytime he gets the ball. Epling he's little but he has a big heart he will be ready to play. LET'S GO PIRATES!! STRAIGHT TO STATE.

for the weather report in Belfry for tomarrow nights game. (according to weather.com) is :
Day- Mostly Clear with 0% chance of precip. High 75 F
Night- Mostly Clear with 10% chance of precip. Low of 56 F
Supposed to be 65F at kickoff and 62F on the way home.
So the wheather will not play any factor in this game.
Good luck to both teams.
