MR. Football
#31
DEVIL89 Wrote:In my opinion for Kasey to win MR. FOOTBALL he would have had to score an average 6 TD's a game and run for an average of 200 to 250 yards a game just to make it in the top 5. With that said I would love to see him win it but it just is NOT going to happen. This side of the state may win championships but NOBODY may ever win MR. FOOTBALL just because their is not enough exposure.

I agree with you

Now that I have said that my vote for MR. FOOTBALL would have to go with the Beaumont kids I believe he is from Lousiville Male.

AND THIS IS NOT LISTING HIS TACKLES.........
There are the stats...I dont know.. looks hard to beat.............
I will have to say CLARK..... numbers dont lie, and remember he only plays 2-3 quarters a game..................
Romans 14:11

that's kind of jumbled up there devil..

Clark wont win because it's a 2A eky team.. Unless UK was recruiting him heavy then he might not be mentioned, except an honorable mention..

Even if he did average 250 yds a game, and only played 2 quarters, then the 4A people would say he only puts up those numbers because the competition is weak.

It's a screwed up system i think.

and whoever said adam dials would run over the anderson kid, well, you need to go watch the boy play.
I'm in love with Tawnya.. hehe..

Tom is not my friend....

if you have any questions send me a p.m.

what kinda looks is Kasey Clark getting??? (colleges?)
#41
I would love to see Kasey Clark win the award, but I think it will go to Victor Anderson.
#42
I would predict the award will go to either St. Xavier's Victor Anderson, Henry Clay's Chase Minnifield, or Male's Doug Beaumont. According to The Sporting News' "High School Football 06" issue, Minnifield is ranked #41 in the Midwest Region of the country. However, he is listed as a Defensive Back. Anderson is ranked 84th, and he is ranked as a Running Back. Beaumont is ranked #87 as a Wide Receiver. I've never seen these three young men play, but to be ranked nationally like that says something...especially when you play in Kentucky, which isn't known for producing High School Football Players. I do think it will go to one of these two men, but God knows, there are plenty deserving of the award. They just play in lower classes; Shawn Grimm (Johnson Central), Kasey Clark (Russell), Brent Slusher (Bell County), and some others. I dont' agree with 4A schools producing a large majority of the Mr. Football awards, but I'm just a spectator. What do I know?

mrfootball03 Wrote:I don't think that would happen, just for the sheer fact that Russell is 2A..
As much as we like to not think so, there is a huge difference in 2A to 4A..
And alot of people like to look at it that way.. when you excel in 4A.. people
automatically put you at the top.. when I also know very well, that theres Single A school who could beat 4A schools..

2005 Mr. Football - Micah Johnson, Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell is a 2A school. I don't really think Kasey will win because he plays for a very classy coach who refuses to leave kids in just to pad their stats. On several occasions this year Kasey has only played 1 quarter and has only played 1 entire game this year. He busts his butt everyday in practice and after practice to make sure he stays in tip top shape for the playoffs.

Victor Anderson is the best football player in the state of Kentucky. He should, and probably will, win Mr. Football. Hopefully he backs out of his commitment to WVU i think, and becomes a Kentucky Wildcat!
#45
Victor Anderson at Male
#46
Nobody from the mountains will ever get Mr. Football
#47
No offense Russell fans but Clark doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Haiti... he is a phenomenal player and for my money the MVP in 2A... but.. as someone who has seen alot of football and watched Beaumont and Anderson in person..there is absolutely no comparison and geography has nothing to do with it.

Doug Beaumont, IMO, is the best football player in Kentucky. When I watched him play he was no doubt all he was billed to be as a runner, but when I left what really impressed me was his abilities on defense. In Redman's "Confusion Defense" in which all 11 men are in the box and there is single bump coverage at the wideouts, Beaumont's role as a safety is HUGE. I saw him run down three plays that would have been TD's from behind, twice, he stripped the ball and caused the turnover. Also on offense Beaumont's role as a receiver forces defenses to be honest and frees up the most underrated player in the state Adam Williams to make big plays vertically.

I have seen Clark play and he is a tremendous player, but he is nowhere near the calibur of Beaumont, or nowhere near the runner that Anderson is.

if we are putting kasey in the picture why not shawn Grimm bigger school almost the same stats and younger.
#49
I wish they would give two MR. Football awards next year one for the Class's 1A thur 3A and another for Classes 4A thur 6A
