2025-2026 16th Region Rankings
#1
7 straight regional titles.  A-Town has to be favored until another team can dethrone the 64th district's best team for 1/2 a decade.

I agree,  Ashland is always tough!  I do think they lost a lot this year though, and Zander Carter was awesome! I forget the name of that other senior that was really good too so both was a big loss!  Boyd still has Spurlock and it sounds like maybe a few other transfer new good players?  So will they sneak up on Ashland this year?

Boyd does have some players and sounds like they poached (LOL) a few from sounding areas.  But they still have Coach A who has won only 1 title at Boyd and that year was 2018 and it has Been A-Town ever since.

No, they will not sneak up on A-Town.  Will they win a game or two that's very possible.  Ashland will be prepared for battle no doubt.  But if we are gambling here all odds will be on ASHLAND to win the 16th region in 2026.

Boyd and Russell are set to outperform Ashland this year. Boyd is likely to secure the clear #1 spot and dominate the district and region in 2025-2026, even with Ashland adding a few players from Huntington. The bigger question is whether Ashland will actually start an Ashland player. Lyons might have a shot if Davis doesn’t play. If Davis does play, the lineup could feature 1 Russell player, 1 South Point player, and 3 Boyd County players, with Lyons and Owens possibly coming off the bench.
