Correct, one is a sitting head coach and past regional champion. The other one, I am not sure if he is head coach or not this past season.
Why are you avoiding naming these coaches then? Some sort of super secret information you weren't supposed to say to anyone?

Local trainer of the younger kids. To my knowledge, he has never been the coach of a team. Should be interesting how he fits jumping right into such a big job with high expectations and history.

This role comes with its fair share of challenges and ongoing issues, so I hope he's prepared and able to navigate them successfully.

First ever coaching job, but has is/was manager at Reno’s locally there. Big step up as far as running a program

Wow, sounds like he's taking over at UCLA, Kansas, NC, or UK.

Rowan is arguably one of the top jobs in the state. Not the toughest district, right off 64, college town, big school.

One has to wonder if this is a hire to get through this season before looking again next year. Finding a coach this late is very hard I would assume.

Ask yourself this. Would Ashland, Boyd, or say Russell make a hire of someone with no coaching experience?

The answer is no!

I think this hire is more of a reflection of the state of Rowan Co. Basketball than a reflection of the person they hired.
A top 3 program is the region, says the best person for their kids and community is a guy that has no coaching experience. Skill training is a small (but important) part of running a high school program but it definitely does not qualify a person for a coaching job of this magnitude.
I’m asking because I don’t know, has this individual been part of a high school coaching staff in the past? Junior High level?
My point is …. “If this is the best candidate that applied, the Rowan County community should be outraged”.,
I hope I’m wrong but I do not see this ending well for Rowan County kids.

To my knowledge, he has no team coaching experience at the middle or high school level. He’s been the trainer of youth kids for a while. I believe this was a hire to keep the parents happy with the shape that Rowan County Schools are in right now.

I'm wondering if this is just a temporary hire, given how late it came in and considering all the issues Rowan has faced in the last 3 years—it just hasn't been an appealing coaching job.
