This one will be highly sought after. Expect Head Coaches from around the state to apply. Looking at the staff, you have his son Tyler and Derrick Robinson if they go that route.
my guess on Thacker is he will pop up somewhere as head coach no one expects and will maybe end up at a better job than Rowan. Will he be able to commute there from Morehead is the question.

Yeah, doesn't appear that Thacker is involved with any of that mess but definitely contributed to his retirement I would say. He's getting while the getting is good.

Would Scott Tackett be a candidate for this position? Had tremendous success at Rowan County previously on the girls side working alongside Thacker as he was boys coach. Tackett currently at Lewis County coaching the boys there for the Lions.

I extend my best wishes to Coach Thacker 17 years at Rowan. I have observed him for a long time and have greatly admired his passion and meticulous preparation for his teams over the years. He has been a significant figure in the 16th Region, achieving notable success as a coach.
Given the circumstances involving the coach and principal, I believe it was the right time for to step aside. As the head coach, he bears ultimate responsibility for the basketball program, I commend him for making the decision to step down. I firmly believe it was the appropriate course of action, I sincerely hope he was unaware of events that transpired. I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors!

Due to the ongoing challenges at this school, it may be difficult to attract a highly qualified coaching candidate under the current circumstances.

They have a principal opening so I doubt this is filled until the principal job is filled. They’ll get some good candidates but not as good as they would have under normal circumstances.

Any updates on if they've hired or anyone who's shown interest.

They told candidates no hire until they hire a principal. So no hire before July.
