Open Job: Hazard
#1
Think the worst kept secret on here and everywhere is now official.

Big Al has stepped down at Hazard per WYMT.
#2
Who do they call first, better hurry. Already rumblings of some of those boys heading out.

I’d bet we hear Huffs name in the conversation.

Montgomery Co. Matther Taylor?
#7
No way they call Huff. John Noble? Inside hire?
#8
Al to pike central and probably Taylor to hazard is the word.
#9
Go get Matt Hurt at EKU to return back to the mountains as the Head Coach. Would be an outstanding hure with his time at Coastal Carolina and EKU.
#10
Jonathon Bentley ?
#11
My money is on Paelrker Carter. Another name is Coach WhitAker who helped all coach back when his boy played.
#12
Huff just stepped down from Knott County.
#13
Cook?
Huff?
Taylor?
Noble?
Hurt?
Carter?
Bentley?
#14
How long before they can officially make a hire? Needs to be done the second they can do it.

I would say that Bentley would probably be chomping at the bits to apply.

Todd Howard should be in the mix
On this. I know he currently coaching the girls team but he can coach.

I feel there would have to be some turn downs before they get to Taylor. Not doubting his coaching abilities just not he is the right fit. I would think John Noble would be high on the call list.
#19
If I’m Eddie Browning my first call would be Jason Mays
#20
Strikeout King,
I would think you are correct but I have also heard there was some negative feelings towards each other in years past. No idea if either party has moved past that. If so, he would be a solid hire I think.

Todd Howard coach Hazard boys & McAlarnis brings her daughter over and coaches Hazard girls??????

he’s not leaving Montgomery. Has too good of a situation there just needs to get him a point guard but he’s got talent he’s put a lot into coming back. And sure he will get a PG.

Didn’t say he would but you got to test the waters with him.  He would bring his assistant coach Neal Terry who’s from the area along with his two kids who are multi sport studs.  Would be the best possible hire

Apparently a lot of places are interested in John Noble. Heard his name mentioned several times by people from Hazard, Knott, and Floyd county the past few days.

Parker would be an absolute terrible hire.

Hearing that mays has been contacted about the position and Terry also from Montgomery county. Word is flinchum from lee is already headed to the hazard roster. Throw in Andrew Terry with the returning roster that hazard has and the other players that Mays can bring in and the rest of the regions playing for 2nd place.
#25
Mays isn’t going to Hazard. He lives in Stanton and his wife is a principal in Mt. Sterling. This job will get a lot of applicants and I doubt Terry will be at the top of the list.

Robert Amos. You heard it first here folks

Parker is an alumni pick and I would say no one loves Hazard more than him. But would they give him a shot? Who knows? This will be a popular job though.

They also let Parker coach jv and it was a constant complaint about how he coached with several kids quitting due to the fact. I know a lot of people complain just to be complaining but if u had went and watched a jv game like I have, you’d understand the reason for complaints.
