#31

The 2 point shot that was mistakenly called a 3 occurs at the 1:35:00 mark in the video above.

And at the 13:20 mark you’ll find the 3 that was mistakenly called a 2….

The one that was called a 2 instead of a 3 was immediately called a 2 by the official, but it’s not like he has a better angle than the camera. He’s behind the shooter when the shot goes up. No way he can see if a toe was on the line. Definitely looks like a 3

Your mom's house.

You are the only one on here pretending that last shot was a 3.

Good game LC
Big shot by Harris at the end.
No they don’t.   Please.   1/3 of the kids foot is on the line.  An egregious mistake.  Don’t throw every other official under the bus to cover for the error.

The big question is why the heck did Pikeville not foul up 3?

Horrible officiating. The 3 wasn’t a 3 to send it to overtime. Walters fouling out hurt Pikeville. I thought only 2 of them were actual fouls though. Do you foul up 3 as soon as they cross half court? I think yes.

All kidding aside, I clearly said the officials were awful on both sides the entire game.

You do realize that in that photo you posted the line he is behind is the free throw circle, right? And the line his right foot (and actually his left one too) is clearly on is the three-point line?

seriously dont know how they missed this call, honestly a pretty crap way for the season end for the 3 seniors on this team, also ANYONE who thinks pikeville deserved this is what is wrong with 15th region basketball..and if this happened to any other team in the region, like lets say the golden child martin county, Pike Central wouldve been set on fire.

Pikeville Fans can boast and roast with the best of them but they hate it when it gets put back on them.
this isnt even a " this is what they deserve game " lol, a team literally got cheated out of a chance at the region title.

Sometimes short threes are better than long twos.

But that play aside let’s not take away from game both teams played. You really hate to see anyone lose in a game like that but Lawrence just made the last big play. Isn’t a doubt in my mind if there if five seconds more pikeville hits a game winner and this came down to who had the ball last when clock hit zero.

Congrats Bulldogs.

Also want to say Pikeville staff is as classy as anyone could ever cross paths with. Never once complain,
Knows there is a purpose for everything. Both of these coaches are A1 guys and run their programs the correct way.
#51
I’m not gonna lie, if you believe Pikeville deserved to lose this game because they ARE PIKEVILLE then you’re simply a bad person. Those guys did not deserve to lose that way.

Perhaps, and I know this is crazy talk, if people weren't absolutely horrible to refs, the good ones would stick around and the average of a ref wouldn't be around 60! Complain all you want, but I would NEVER want to be a ref with the way of these fans act.

Also, that was a terrible call and clearly a 2. But I'm a firm believer one call does not make a game, even at the end.

Had it been the other way around, Pikeville would’ve took that call and ran with it. It was the wrong call, but there were other bad calls made throughout the entire game against both teams. One call doesn’t decide the game. That specific call was at the end of the regulation, giving Pikeville 4 more minutes to win the game. LC played tough.

But this call literally did decide the game. If they call this a two pointer then the game is over.

You got it exactly backwards. Pikeville already won the game. It gave LC 4 more minutes to win the game.

this has got to be one of the stupiest comments ever, take basketball out of your name.

The thing about the call is this—there is no instant replay calls in high school basketball. While we all have went back and seen that the shot was a 2, the referee made the right call in the moment. Would you want someone to end a team’s season on the question of an inch or less on the floor without being able to replay and zoom? Is the better option to say, this is too close to call so here is an additional four minutes of play to see who comes out the winner?

I think this was the right call. Ultimately, Pikeville couldn’t hang with the pace of Lawerence. As an avid basketball fan, I can say this was not Pikeville’s best game.

Good lord, awful take. Like worst take ever. smdh nobody will beat this. Blown call robs team of win in regional tournament and ends their season is actually the right call. I'm dumber for reading that.
