That stuff happens. No replay in high school basketball, and the ref has to make a big time call in the heat of the game. With everyone on the court running down the floor and multiple guys surrounding the shooter, 8 out of 10 refs in that situation call that shot a 3. Pikeville still had a chance to win in spite.

Give Lawrence kid credit for making the shot to put the game into OT but it was clearly a 2. Wasn't really close from my point of view. Chandler Thompson's team is tough to beat in March

Just saw a comment that a first quarter 3 was counted as a 2 for LC. Went back and watched. The guy was right. 4 minutes left in the first quarter. They even put 3 on the scoreboard and had to change it a couple minutes later

I didn’t get to watch this or really hear anything about it. When was this controversial call so I can go back and watch?

buzzer at end of regulation. Lawrence down 3 hits a shot at the buzzer to tie it and send game to OT but the kid's foot was clearly on the line. Pikeville would have won by 1

Last play of regulation. But those refs were really bad both ways all game. Pikeville was just unlucky to get the last awful call when the game should have been over.

All of a sudden the referees are bad!

Just as someone stated earlier they missed the 3 by Featheroff in the 1st quarter so the late game missed call is a wash.

Depends on which one you’re talking about.  The one people will remember is the buzzer beater in the 4th to force OT.  It was a bad call.  There were multiple bad calls both ways today.  I went back and watched a replay of the LC shot in the 1st quarter.  It was a clear 3.  They changed it to a 2 (It was likely called a 2 in real-time by the official, but the scorekeeper and broadcasters called it a 3) looks like a clear 3 to me on video. They just got it wrong like they did at the end of regulation.

The 5th foul called on Walters was obviously not him that committed the foul.  The 4th foul called on him was not a foul, but those happen sometimes.
