this program keeps finding ways to stay alive but cant seem to get over the 3rd round hump in a very tough class..... 
looks likely that in 2025 winning the district will be the difference in a winnable 2nd round game and a trip to pond creek

what do you see for the 2025 cardinals with devan maynard back at qb

Martin loses like 9 or 10 starters and 16 seniors overall. I’m pretty sure 7 or 8 played both ways for the Cardinals. Losing Watts, Stafford, Cheek, etc will be hard to replace.

They’ll have Maynard though and he’ll likely be a one man show for them offensively, but he’ll still be hard to defend. Kid is a great athlete and once he gets a full head of steam, he’s tough to bring down.

Martin County and Leslie County will likely duel it out for 2nd place in the district. Winner gets Belfry in the playoffs and loser will get Shelby Valley 1st round.

I think we should not forget about Crayson Lafferty returning either. Kid is going to be one of the best ILB’s in the mountains next year, maybe in the whole state, and if he gets some good coaching he will progress as a good complimentary RB to take some of the load away from Maynard too.

Overall I think Martin loses a lot next year whereas Pburg returns a lot, so I think it’ll be a steep hill to climb for them to win this district, but that game is at the Rock and historically it’s an extremely difficult place to win football games.

the senior class graduating now was 21-3 and home and maybe broke .500 away so the returning players definitely have that mentality that no one comes in to the rock and wins easily. I look for the MC and Pburg game to be a good one next year

Martin county does lose some key players but no one that they can't replace. They return their whole nucleus of the team with the offensive line and they have a stud sophomore class that's going to be stud juniors next year. They had a few freshman get a lot of playing time and started a few games as well. Don't be surprised if Martin takes district next year.

Martin county losing watts, stafford and both defensive ends is a big blow but are replaceable players especially with how transfers are in Martin county. Biggest blow will be the parsley boy on the line. Had lots of young players around him but could tell he was the captain of the line. Maynard will have to have a back brace to carry Martin county back to the 3rd round.

Martin co does lose a LOT from this years team. They still have some nice pieces. Just need to start now on getting those younger kids stronger and ready to step up.

Martin loses a lot but don’t think that coach Muncy and coach slone won’t have people to step up. What people don’t realize is that the cards JV team only lost one game last year and it was to a team they beat later in the year. They’ve got some big athletes that need and will step up for them.

Martin county does lose some key pieces from last year's team but the nucleus of the team is back. Their line should be or could be one of the best around. They have potential but they are going to have to work and grind games out with he offensive line.
