Weird Food Combinations That You Like
#1
In another thread, I mentioned that I love peanut butter with chili(or vegetable soup). I like dipping a peanut butter sandwich in my chili or soup.

Other weird combos I enjoy:

1.  Ketchup on eggs

2. Mayonnaise in soup beans

3. Mustard on salmon patties

What about you?  Are there some weird food combinations that you like???  The weirder, the better...

OSH I'm glad you started this thread. I'm not very good at many things in life, but a few things that I am good at are talking about food and eating food so this one's right up my alley.

As for weird food combinations, it's funny you talk about ketchup on eggs, but I just started putting some on mine recently and it's a game changer. I've always had some sort of jelly on mine preferably grape, but other times especially when I have gravy & biscuits, I'll later mine up in serp and put it on my eggs too. We had waffle house, and I got the famous all-star meal, put ketchup on my hash browns and thought let's try it on the eggs, it was great.

Idk if this would be considered weird food combo considering one would be a condiment, I know fries & ketchup has always been the common thing, but every time I get fries, I always tend to get something different. Am I the only one? I mean I can eat them with ranch, honey mustard, bbq sauce, it doesn't matter to me, but I've always enjoyed different dipping sauces with my fries.

One that I've had a few times, but my dad & grandpa loved is getting cornbread, tearing it up and putting it in a glass of milk, I'll have to say it is very good. My grandpa took it a step further and would put his cornbread in buttermilk.

Not the weirdest but I'd assume common is putting peanuts in your pop, specifically an ice-cold Pepsi, I do this fairly often.

Always put sugar in my vegetable soup, and even spaghetti, think I seen my dad or someone in my family do it once before, so I tried it and I became instantly hooked, and apparently it is a lot more common than I thought, but maybe still weird to some.

This one may be the weirdest of the bunch for me. I have always been a fan of cottage cheese, my Mamaw loved it too, she especially loved the ones you got at the store where it had the fruit with it, like cottage cheese & peaches. I'll never forget I told my Mom I wanted some and she got it at the store, I was at home eating it and I told her that I needed something on it to make it taste better, all she had in the fridge was French dressing, so since I was about 10 years old, every time I eat cottage cheese, I'll eat French dressing on it.

That is about all I can think of, some kindly common and some kindly weird as well. May have more to come mind, but what about everyone else?

My pawpaw LOVED cornbread in buttermilk!!!   I've only gone as far as cornbread in sweet milk(not a huge buttermilk fan). But I really, really like my cornbread in milk.

I've been to Cracker Barrel many times and ordered soup beans. When I tell the waiter I want some mayonnaise for my beans they look at me like I'm a damn nut. (I know, i know, I am a damn nut! lol)

I know this one's not too crazy but I like to put potato chips on my tuna fish sandwich.

Speaking of tuna, one of my faves is dipping my tuna sandwich in a bowl of tomato soup.

Cottage cheese with peach or pineapple slices.

Scrambled eggs in spinach.

Still do it from time to time, but when I was younger my dad and I would have a random assortment of stuff, like a combo plate, but it consisted of town house crackers (only ones I'll eat) grape jelly, bread & butter pickles (also only ones I'll eat) and cheese.

We'd tear the cheese apart, put it on the cracker, then put the jelly on it, eat that then get a pickle, rinse & repeat. I have no idea where my dad came up with that combination, but back then it was good, still good for a random snack every now and then.

Have you tried them with the spicy brown mustard, you should, but I agree with you on this.

I can eat ranch dressing on about anything.

Ketchup is very good on eggs.

On my sweet potatoes I like brown sugar and maple pancake syrup.  Most of my family gets a kick outta me for the pancake syrup lol

I love salt and vinegar chips.  When I was a kid and we didn't have any,  I'd get a bowl full of plain chips and pour vinegar and a little salt on them.

Hot dogs and BBQ sauce is another thing I like.

BBQ sauce on hot dogs is good, little bit of relish, gives it all sorts of flavor.

Potted meat sandwiches are good.  I'd only ever ate it with crackers.  I was at a buddy of mines and he introduced me to that.  It's also good on toast.  Garlic toast is my favorite,  potted meats good on that.

My wife likes corn bread and milk or buttermilk.  I never really cared much for it.

I like onions in my soup beans.  If it's the right time of the year some fried polk weed goes good with them  Wink

Salmon patties and ANY kind of mustard.  One of my very favorite combos. I could eat a 8-10 patties on a hungry day.
