SL vs NL 1/9/25 predictions
#1
I think SL has the all the advantages, better coach, all around better players and likely will have a better crowed. This will be a tough one for NL.
#2
Well, I'm going against the grain in this one. I'm taking NL in a close one.
#3
Given that SL already won at Nl and NL has no one that can guard Mabe(Smith who just left NL for SL could body him a little) and that this will probably be a very emotional game(all the SL players remember what Valentine and Messer said last year when Mabe went down) I say SL by 15. Will be a fun game to watch just like the earlier one.

South...No problem.

I hate to be the a-hole but I’m gonna start closing threads until we can title them the way they are suppose to be titled.

Called it SL wins by 15. Mabe dominated Davidson. Don’t know the totals but he blocked maybe shots on him. Finished with close to a triple double with blocks. Steele had a great game also
#7
You definitely nailed that one shottaker. It was close for 3 qtrs. Mabe really dominated Davidson like you said. He just looked like a veteran who was always 2 steps ahead of reece. Jervis came up big against clay when reece had a bad game. He didn’t step up like that tonight so they were dominated. North is really limited outside of reece. He has to be a beast every night for them to win.
#8
Rawlings defense on the ball played havoc on NL's offense. Coach Davis' defensive call to double the basketball and making someone other than Jervis to make decisions changed the game.
#9
South is loaded this year
I take them in a barnburner

Smith, was on that 8th-grade team at NL that won the state, that is three of their starters on that team they have run off or PO'd enough to quit or leave. It speaks volumes about a coach who can't keep a team like that handed to them on a platter playing in my opinion.

Actually there is another current starter from that team who has attempted to leave but was scared by the staff into staying. Honestly I would not be surprised to see Valentine leave this year(rumor is he has/will be applying for a Lex job) and I will guarantee he leaves after Davidson graduates. He(and his lead assistant) are the definations of program killers.

Those guys that won that have not panned out like everyone thought they would. Decent players but a lot people close to them have blamed the coach because those kids were unable to dominate immediately. Ive followed all those kids and sometimes it just doesn’t translate to domination of high school players. Nothing from any of them jumps out as kids who are being misused as high school players. They are all three decent high school basketball players.

NL has played a top 10  schedule in the state and as far as that 8th grade team that won state it only had 2 kids that anybody would consider basketball players

LOL, they were sure GAMERS and PLAYERS when they won that 8th Grade State, we were there watching another team play and saw them finish it up.  They played
together as a team whether you consider them basketball players or not, they were a DARN good group that someone got working together well enough to not only
make a run at state but win it & 2 players didn't do it alone.  I am just saying that had the right coach gotten ahold of that group, they could have had something to
build on.  And as well as they played together they could have been competitive down the road.  I don't know who the coaches were who missed this opportunity, just
saying they did.

Unless they changed coaches the RIGHT coach had them as 8th graders and that would have been Tim Sizemore. He has more knowledge than anyone on the current HS bench and should be your Head coach there. When Valentine heads back to Lex soon maybe they will give Tim a shot. He would do great!

I had to ask who the coach of that NL 8th grade team was that won the state, it wasn't Sizemore, it was a young guy named Jervis, even more impressive!
