A nice win for Ashland over the defending Division 2, Ohio state champs. They finished last season ranked #4 overall in Ohio. Idk much else about them, other than it was their first state championship since 2001 & 4th overall. So, they have some tradition. And, they’re from the Dayton area. They had some size & one kid is committed to NC ST.
They looked like a solid team, but, the score is very misleading. Ashland dominated throughout & led by as many as 23, I believe. They led 42-21 at the half & 54-32 after 3 quarters. They even led 64-42 with 1:25 left in the game, lol. Ashland emptied the bench around that point & the subs immediately started turning over the ball quickly, on multiple consecutive possessions, & giving up open 3s. It was 64-60 before I knew it.
Insane, honestly, even considering that the young subs were in. 18-0 run in like a minute. Hat tip to Alter for fighting til the final horn & looking unbeatable for the last minute plus. No idea why the coach waited so long to put the starters back in, but, whatever. Started running clock & playing keep-away in the 3rd quarter, too. Zander Carter led Ashland with 28, I think. Drew Smith had 15, all on 3s. Nobody else in double figures. KOTB is next; Woodford Co on Thursday, IIRC.

How many Ashland starters played middle school basketball at Ashland?

How many Ashland starters had pop tarts for breakfast?
12-18-2024, 11:54 AM
I find it intriguing that Ashland players have Pop-Tarts for breakfast before games. It seems like a unique tradition. Additionally, I am curious as to why some parents might be reluctant to send their children to Ashland. The school consistently wins regional championships, competes in an impressive schedule, and conducts practices that are more rigorous than most regional games. Furthermore, the players are coached by coaches rather than parents, ensuring a high level of training and fairness.
Is the reluctance due to a dislike for Ashland, or is it perhaps a matter of envy towards their success?

Ah, of course! Clearly, you must be one of those rare, elevated individuals who truly understands that Ashland is the epitome of educational and athletic excellence. I mean, why else would they be so sure that anyone reluctant to send their child to Ashland is simply jealous? After all, who wouldn’t want their kid to be part of a school that wins regional championships with such consistency, practices so grueling they could make grown adults cry, and has coaches who are obviously above the level of those mere “parent-coaches” at other schools? It’s not like there could be other legitimate reasons for hesitation (morals/ethics)—no, no, it’s definitely just envy. The idea that someone might not want their kid to be shaped by the almost god-like regime of Ashland’s athletic program? Preposterous. You clearly know better than anyone else what's best for every child—because when you’re in the Ashland club, everything else just pales in comparison, right? ???? Dude, you are a joke.

"Wow, you really nailed it! I guess Ashland's secret weapon is their ability to inspire such passionate critiques. But hey, if being part of a winning team with dedicated coaches and rigorous practices is a crime, then call me guilty. ?"

Hmm, your response to my sarcasm completely misses the mark. If you're an Ashland graduate, I truly hope their academic standards are being re-evaluated.

I appreciate your feedback. My intention was to engage in a light-hearted manner, but I understand that it didn't resonate with you. Ashland's academic and athletic programs are both highly regarded, and I respect the dedication and effort that goes into maintaining their standards. If there's a specific point you'd like to discuss further, I'm here to listen.

The NIL deals offered to new recurits and the active recruitment of Region players/Tri-state players by the coaching staff (video of JV Coach in Russell gym). Sam Lyons is the only Ashland kid on the team that gets any minutes. One thing for sure. Meet the Tomcats is such a must. Just so everyone can meet the new guys that were recruited. Because no one knows from year to year who is on the roster. One thing for sure though....APB kids have been recruited around since Mays arrived and it hasn't slowed down (except 1 yr of probation-0 recruits/transfers). Even being caught twice once on video and audio in the past 3 years.

You're attempt to engage in a "light-hearted manner" is lost with the chauvinism shown in most of your interactions. I am not sure in who you are referring to holding the high regards, but that statement is subjective as well is their effort. No, I'm finished. You can continue to post how superior Ashland is and how every kid should transfer there, but just know that a school that hangs its hat on an athletic program tainted with moral and ethical deceit and a state academic rating that is less than superior should really reconsider it's marketing strategy. Have a nice day.

Because no one knows from year to year who is on the roster. One thing for sure though....APB kids have been recruited around since Mays arrived and it hasn't slowed down (except 1 yr of probation-0 recruits/transfers). Your oral fixation of calling a man daddy is disturbing.
Is this referring to the rumor that i'm hearing, the strength and conditioning coach quit the staff?
Haven’t heard that? What is the reason if so and rumor from a good source?

The school consistently wins regional championships, competes in an impressive schedule, and conducts practices that are more rigorous than most regional games. Furthermore, the players are coached by coaches rather than parents, ensuring a high level of training and fairness.Very well said! Common sense has prevailed.
Is the reluctance due to a dislike for Ashland, or is it perhaps a matter of envy towards their success?

Nevermind, looks like there is might be some truth. He's not standing at half court for their warmups with his arms crossed, and doesn't seem to be on the bench tonight.

I'm curious as to who would be the "wrong person", considering he was allowed to coach in the first place after being escorted out of gyms as a fan, and even banned from Ashland's gymnasium.

Appypuss and Fanboy Boyd’s two biggest fan’s. I did hear tonight he had a procedure done. But since you two are Boyd’s biggest insiders. I’m sure it’s what you guys say. lol he isn’t banned either. Saw him on the sideline at the Ashland vs BC football game. I never saw him being escorted out of the gym during a game. I have seen Steve Carter and Ryan Davis get escorted out of several games last year and the year prior. Fanboy you watch a man so close you know where and how he stands at games. Lol that man lives rent free in your life. You may want to get a picture and have him sign it in that stance.

Last time I checked they don't play football games inside Ashland's gymnasium. And yes he most certainly has been escorted out of Boyd's gym during a varsity game before. And Morehead States gym after the a regional final game.

You may want to check your facts. Just like most things about the BC program you speak of. You are usually wrong. Are you going to the game at APB this year. I’m sure you may see him there. How does coaches from APB get kicked out of multitude of games and still able to coach. Do you feel as passionate about that or you just fixated on the BC coach
