So, UNC fires 73-year-old Mack Brown, and hires in his place 72-year-old Bill Belichick, make it make sense! 

Belichick has always been in talks as one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time, but this isn't the NFL, with the way the landscape of College Football has changed, just don't see this working out. Read an interesting article on the athletic, one thing stuck out that said "can you imagine Belichick on a recruiting trip with a young man, flashing those super bowl rings that he will definitely be wearing, throws his pitch, then the kid says yeah that's great and all but how much am I getting paid?"

Belichick went from NFL to NIL, don't think his success in the pros will translate to college. I may be wrong, nut just don't see it happening.

Bengals should have fired 40-something y.o. Zack Taylor and hire BB. BB is an A-Hole but he has forgotten more about coaching than the young Taylor will ever know. Taylor is awful at ball coaching.

Living in North Carolina I am very interested in this. I've heard about this more nationally than I have locally. Kid who went to high school with with my two youngest kids signed with UNC last week. I would love to see how he fares under Bellichick, he's one of the best HS players I have ever seen. It's going to be fun to watch.

I'm a big time NE Patriots fan.  I became a bandwagon Tampa Bay Bucks fan for two years while Brady and Gronk were there.  I was still a New England Patriots fan first,  just pulled for TB on the side. 

Now I'm still going to be a UK football fan first,  in college,  but after UNC making Belichick their head coach,  I'll be pulling for them on the side.  So much that I'll soon be purchasing a UNC hat! As a die hard UK fan,  never thought I'd hear myself say that    

I'll have to go back and look because I'm not a hundred percent sure on this,  but I believe Belichicks dad was involved with UNC at one time.  Maybe as hc or assistant.  I read that somewhere last night.  This might explain his move to want to coach UNC. 

Some of the sports media have been predicting, that maybe Belichicks son or assistant's, will handle the recruiting and NIL side of things, for the most part.

Just went back and looked,  his father was a assistant coach from like 53-55 at UNC with the football team.  It said Bill Belichick was 2 years old when his dad was a coach there.

This is very interesting and leads me to believe he's doing this to set his son up with a coaching job to get his name built up to get back into the NFL. Or Bill is just a football guy and can't stay away from it and wants to see if he can turn a program around with his coaching and leadership.

It should be easy to win in the ACC but I still think this is an awful hire. I feel sorry for UNC fans who have to suffer through his media shows and conferences. Insufferable.

Anyone else hearing the news that Belichick maybe trying to snag Arch Manning from Texas?

Idk how reliable this is because I get some of the wildest sports news ever popping up on my phone lol

I just read a article about this.  I've gotten sports articles all year,  regarding Arch Manning possibly transferring here or there.  Almost after every Texas game. 

Manning has said he's always wanted to play for Texas. So him to NC I'm taking with a grain of salt. 

If it was true,  how wild would that be.  All the great games,  Archs uncle's Peyton and Eli,  have had vs Belichick over the years. If he did transfer to North Carolina to play for Belichick! 

I seriously doubt there is any traction to this.

Think that Sark has a tough spot. Ewers is his guy and has kept the job the past two years, but it looks like he's wanting to come back and to try to play himself into the first round of the draft. If he comes back, it won't be to sit on the bench.

If Ewers is back at Texas, it's going to kill recruiting going forward if he's brought in Arch Manning but doesn't play him. Next year will be Manning's third college season (he redshirted in 2023).

For obvious reasons, I can't see both back at Texas next season. Rumor is that Ewers is going to be gone (possibly to a Big Ten team). Manning takes over as a redshirt Sophomore and can't declare until after his Junior season. Texas probably looks to have a solid, experienced back-up in place in case of injury and then they'll bring in another top recruit with the promise of playing once Manning is gone.

As for where Ewers ends up, I'm thinking that Oregon, Michigan, and Penn State are the most likely options. Can't see him going back to Ohio State-- the walk of shame for each would probably be too much.

Where it gets really interesting is if Ewers plays really well in the playoffs and Texas advances deep, or even wins, but he still doesn't declare.

Yeah that Texas qb situation has definitely been interesting.  It'll become even more interesting during the playoffs and off season.  
I made the mistake of reading an article or two earlier in the year about the Texas qbs.  Now almost every day, my news feed is flooded with article's regarding the Texas qb situation!
If it'll help Ewers draft stock by staying one more year,  I couldn't blame him for coming back.  Agreed that him or Manning will likely hit the portal if this happens.  
Maybe if Ewers stays at Texas,  I'll begin getting article's about Manning to UK.  I mean why not,  past news article's have had him pretty much going everywhere else
