Franklin Co may match up better than Corbin overall in this game but if they get behind two scores they'll be in trouble. I like the Flyers defense and special teams but they will need to keep it a low scoring like the game against Covington Catholic to have a chance to pull off the upset. It's plausible because they have a great defense. That defense will need to limit the PT rushing yards where Corbin failed, and hope James is a little off his game with the cold weather. PT was in a stalemate with the Redhounds but gained traction running the ball which was one of the keys to game. I've read some post that say Franklin Co is good at setting the edge but I saw several CovCath runs get outside containment. PT has a greater potential to push the edge with their speed which is cause for concern. PT QB James didn't have a good first half against Corbin with several passes missing high. The passing game of PT vs. the Franklin Co secondary will be one major key to this game. I believe the Flyers need to keep the score under 23 to have a shot for their first title. I won't count them out because they are physical and tough but I still think PT is the favorite by two scores. If an experience QB and great athlete like Elam couldn't handle the blitz I worry what the freshman QB will do if Franklin falls behind and they are forced to pass. I'll say Paducah Tilghman 28-13, when they get their athletes in space eventually it equals paydirt.......... but go Flyers!

PT's offense is often the subject of much discussion, but their defense is very stout as well across the line, in the LB corps, and DB's. One kid that doesnt get enough credit is Jimmy Mooney. Mooney is the the heart and soul of their defense and you will see that he is in on almost every play. Kid has a motor-

I will be cheering for an F5 to hit. Go Blue Tornado!!!!

Tornadoes, rarely blow in COLD weather!!!!!! Flyers always fly baby!!

PT wins 10-9
I think this is the most even matchup of the weekend. Should be a low scoring slobber knocker. Not many weak links on either team. Excited for this one.
p.s. Friend of a friend told me Walt Love will be presenting the Championship trophy....

I don't know much about the school but they must have a good wrestling program I would guess. I have honestly not seen one minute of a Franklin Co. game this year but I might go on hudl and watch some on them today but from past experience they are typically a hybrid team that the lines that will punch like a Johnson Central team but also have some really fast skill players too and they can put you on your heels. interesting match up for sure.

IMO Paducah wins pretty handily. The Flyers are hot, but not as hot as the Tornadoes. If this game was played 10 times, I’d say PT wins 7 or 8 of them. PT just has too many weapons across the board. I’ll be bundled up in the cold for this one, hope it’s worth it.

They only play ONCE...

Off topic. Just found my 4th grade photo of Daniel Boone's gravesite in Frankfort. Brought back some awesome memories. I have quite a few good buddies that live up there that are sports nuts as well. Not going to lie, that cursive Flyers logo is pretty sweet. Can't wait to see these two programs play for all the marbles.

I’ll pull for Franklin as they seem to be a slight underdog, but I hope one of the teams learns a lesson in humility.
PT 28
FC 21
Explain?
Yeah thats a rich statement, all PT and Franklin has heard all year is how we wouldn't stand a chance on even getting there much less have a shot at a win.
I think he must be confused with some other team.
I believe he's talking about the attitude, arrongance and "swag" (to put it midly) that these two teams have displayed over the past few years. I'm in 100% agreement with him.

Very good wrestling program. Finished 4th last February. QB Jack James won the state title in the 215 lb division.

Good point, so I'll admend my "like" to that post. I'll say 2.44% chance they hold them to 10 points since it has happened once in the last 3 seasons (41 games).

Not sure what you're talking about here??
First, Tilghman wasn't in the championship in either 2022 nor 2023. Second, they haven't been shutout since 2021.

I have to pull for the Flyers in this one. They have always appeared to be a class act in their previous clashes with the Redhounds.

Class act? Far from it. Go back and watch their game with Warren East in the 2022 playoffs. I'll still be pulling for the Flyers but feel they're the underdog here.

The kid has a right to defend himself, not to mention the previously ejected player run back onto the field and assault another player on the flyers.

So much for 10 pts.... 14 in 15 minutes but stil, GO Flyers!
Yes, that was the fight. It was mouthy and chippy all game and when FC got up big they handled with class. Yeah, (eyeroll)
I feel Franklin Co needs to be +1 in turnovers this half at a minimum.
PT 317 yds to FC 154 yds. Flyers are fortunate to only be down 1 score.
