Kentucky vs. Louisville Sat. 11/30
#1
Kickoff set for Noon Saturday on SEC Network.

Last game of this unfortunate season. Looks like Cutter Boley will be getting the nod. What a way to get his first career start against your biggest rival. Let's hope he can play with poise and provide a spark to this otherwise anemic offense this season.

Kentucky opens up as 2.5 pt underdogs.

Not much to play for to end the season, other than bragging rights, and to push the win streak to 6 over Louisville.

What is everyone's thoughts on this one?

UofL beat Clemson and played Miami and Notre Dame close.  I can understand them being favorites in this one.

UK upset Ole Miss and played Georgia down to the wire.

Good thing for us Cat's fans is this is a rivalry game.  That often means records can be thrown out the window in these games.

UofL is going to a bowl game,  the Cat's are not.  I guess this is kinda our bowl game in the Governor's Cup.  A win here could give us a little something to hang our hat's on for this season.

Pulling for the Cards for a better bowl game since the Cats' season is a bust.

lol I hope this is a joke  Woah

Not joking a bit. In this game I always root for the team that a win helps more. This year it's obviously Louisville.

Gotta look at this one as UK's Bowl game. A win here at least gives them a feel good moment ending the season. A loss will just add to the misery of the season. Being at home and it being senior day against rival, I am taking the Cats in a close low scoring game. Be a good way to get the Boley era started. Go Cats!

To each is own I guess, but imo that is like shitting your pants and putting on a clean shirt.

Louisville is the only in-state team I will not root for in anything. I'll root for everyone else, Morehead, EKU, WKU etc. except when they're playing Kentucky.

Kentucky can't keep them from bowl eligibility, but if they can somehow beat them and cause them to play in a less meaningful bowl, then that would be great. I know that isn't what the team is focused on, they want to finish strong for this debacle of a season and get a win.

UK fans hating Louisville is dumb to me

Hate is a pretty strong word; I don't hate anything or anyone, but I guess it just depends on how you were raised. If you grew up a Kentucky fan, then it's pretty much a given that you aren't going to be a Louisville fan. I've never seen it be any more different than that, but I guess that it is for some.

Portal game for UK players, gotta get that tape out there, with close to 30 headed for the portal.

Boley has to show he can be the guy in 2025 or UK will have entirely new QB room next season.

On paper no reason Cardinals dont win this game, unless they pull a Pikeville.

Would love to see them win three championships in a row.

I don't hate Louisville in the least but I would never, ever root for them against UK.

I don't hate them either, just can't stand them  Smile

But I'll never ever root for them, under any circumstance.

Guys, it's better not to get triggered by sports programs and/or who roots for them. Hehehe

lol trust me, I'm not one bit triggered, can't speak for others but you and everyone else would know if I was triggered over something, but to get butthurt over something that miniscule? Nothing to get a rise out of my blood pressure, just found it odd to root for both!

Nothing odd about it. There are plenty of us out here who support both programs. You just won't hear about it on KSR. Those guys got most of their followers by stirring up the hate in their early days. And yes "can't stand" as you put it does in fact raise your blood pressure.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one. But I will agree with you about KSR, I think the only time I've listened to that show was when the Pardon My Take guys have been on there once a year when Matt Jones is on vacation.

But yeah, there's a lot of things I can't stand, but not all of them raise my blood pressure, not since I went on meds anyways.

In all honesty the only time I really root against UofL is when they play UK.  Other than that I like to see them do good.

A buddy of mine is a UofL fan,  he's the same way.  He's only against the Cat's when they play UofL.  We used to get together and watch this game a lot.  It was a lot of fun.  UofL mostly won during that stretch.  It was okay though,  because we definitely ate good when we got together lol

I actually wish they didn't play each other in football. Hurts the team that loses most of the time. Not this year though KY isn't going anywhere anyway and a win really helps Louisville. That's why I'm rooting for the Cards this year. I was going to go to the game and wear UK hoodie and Louisville cap but high of 30 Saturday so warm TV for me.

This is valid point, playing this game hurts both teams in regards to the playoffs.

And the loser gets a lesser bowl or could get knocked out of a bowl altogether.

He's a Middlesboro liberal, so, of course, I love him. I actually have always enjoyed the KSR shows. I think Matt has some really good takes, although I will concede that his whiny voice does grate on my nerves, at times. Wrote a good read about Mitch McConnell that Mitch didn't take too kindly to.

Do I creep you out, Jet??? Smile

Agree 100% on dropping this game, especially from the UK standpoint. I know UK fans don’t always love the non-conference games against MAC teams or whoever, but with the SEC being even more of a beast than ever now, the road to even just six or seven wins is pretty damn rocky. We don’t need eight conference dogfights, then another game that is at the same level.

Kentucky and Louisville should play every year in both basketball and football, imo.
