Open Job: Danville
#31
Surely we're not talking about Chirico?
#32
Danville might not be job it once was but I still see it attracting some really good coaches. It has great history and always wealth of talent. If they get some kids back from Boyle County they could pretty good right way.

Nope.

first name is correct.

Are we talking about someone who knows how to win at a single A school by recruiting and doubling his roster from neighboring talent?  Wow!  That might be interesting alongside Boyle.
One of those names not like the others.

I think the next coach may be ready to build it, Stone by Stone.

Need someone that has a little experience reviving a struggling A program.

Danville needs to find a former player (1990s-early 2000s) to get this program back on the right track- someone who understands what it is like to play Danville football.

Regardless, this will not get fixed overnight, but they can be headed in the right direction soon. They return a lot of their playmakers and have some talent coming from the middle school level.

They need to take their time and get this right, or another mass exodus may be on the horizon.
If Danville gets their middle school group to actually come to Danville, and a good solid coach who knows how to keep players and also x's and o's, Danville will be back in the mix in 3 years.

I would say until he's done, if that is who it is. He would build back by keeping the young guys, possibly speak the truth to some that have left and get them to transfer back. When he starts winning and if championships come his way I think that would only feed this guy's fire to keep going. Everyone would be better for it.

I'm thinking about applying. I couldn't do worse than the last two seasons.  I will hire Bull as my defensive guru. We will bring Danville back to prominence.

I went to the Danville schools website and do not see the job posting. Traditionally, that would mean Danville has a list of candidates they would rather pursue first?

A friend of a friend tells me they are zeroed in on someone. Wheels are in motion.

Over the weekend, that was mentioned to me as well. I know sometimes that details can't get worked out. I've heard two legit names, with legit resumes. Either will be a step in the right direction. I do believe they have one in focus as you stated.

If I were Danville I would try to find someone who doesn't try to compete with Haddix and Boyle directly, but brings their own style and reason why kids would want to stay within their program or be part of the program.

Boyle basically is running a small college program. They will have extreme success every year and talent will flow there from the entire region. The result is you will have great players at every position and often you will either wait your turn or you may wait your turn just to see the next superstar swoop in the summer before.

Personally if I were Danville I would invest in a coach who is 100% content building something and making it stand on it's own legs. Build around a staff meant to stay in place from the feeder system up, a humbleness in trying to do something everyone will be a part in building together, and a commitment to doing it with a loyalty to local players who want to grow in the system. It will take some time and patience..

With that said, I would look at programs who have found sustained success in somewhat unlikely places and do everything to bring those staffs over where the Danville name and talent pool offers an upgrade to what they are accustomed if they are willing to farm it.

A couple schools that come to mind:
East Carter
Hart County
Campbellsville

The job the staff has done at all three of these schools is very impressive. I would consider Danville a talent pool upgrade over all three jobs and Danville probably has more resources to pull from than all three locations as well.

You might as well tell us who the person is!

It’s heresy, anyway- what could it harm?

I don't use code words. These guys have families, they have jobs, and I don't feel as if talk forums are the place for news to be broken. I was simply stating that two names have been discussed internally, and I believe one of the two will get the job in the end. Both are head coaches, both have had success, and both would do a fine job at Danville. If they turn the position down, you'll start seeing names. Again, you can't apply because Danville has not posted a job, which says they have their own candidate list created.

I assure you nobody is credible enough on here to BREAK NEWS. no family's are going to be hurt from things people say on here. Forums are for opinions, news, and information. What is the point of having a forum?
