Pineville football coach stepped down to move to administrator role
#1
wow surprising news about this
who be new coach of this team
#2
I'm curious to who they think they could get to come to Pineville, will be interesting to see.

I guess there is a young coach out there who is an offensive or defensive coordinator for a team that might
want to go here and make a name for himself. Spend some time building something from the ground up.
Good opportunity!

There is no other way to go but up. 3-22 in the last 25 games for this guy. Chappell had this program on an upswing, and when he left this guy rode a coat tail for a few games with an easy schedule to start his first year.

Pineville needs to go back to that schedule to start the year and not play rock and clay. That’s the first dang job of this coach is SCHEDULING!!!!! GO OUT OF STATE AND PLAY CUMBERLAND GAP OR LEE COUNTY!! Playing rock is not the way to start the season period.

The peak at pineville unless there is a cultural shift, monetary shift, and structural shift at that school is 7 wins with a weak schedule, winning one playoff game maybe, and getting over the hump with middlesboro every so many years. It really wouldn’t be that hard if you schedule jackson, berea, and fairview.

So really don’t build the program, just take it easy and pretend like things are better. That right there is what holds programs in the dark ages, someone actually comes in and challenges the kids and fold and instead of rallying and fighting back the solution is “Find someone that will take it easy on them again”.  I wouldn’t think he would have received essentially a promotion to administration if they didn’t think he could do the job. Sometimes people just want the easy way out and the appearance of success of the hard work and difficult journey it takes to actually build success. There is a reason Williamsburg and Middlesboro dominate this district and it’s because three teams do exactly as you are suggesting and two teams don’t.

I never said take it easy on them, or don’t build the program. All you are trying to do push away the accountability off the coach. There is no 1A team minus pikeville and top dogs that need rock or clay on their schedule period. Injuries occurred in both games.
Whoever planned out a schedule starting with rock, clay, and brishop brossart is an idiot plain and simple. You can always start at your level, win 7 games, and then try to improve from there. But no let’s start off with 3 teams we know we are going to get running clocked by in the first half and lose multiple starters for when we play teams we have a shot against??? Playing up in competition is fine but I would start with a middle of the pack 2A or 3A team, not rock that just went to belfry and almost pulled it off.

Then you got the fact the school didn’t start their renovation to the stadium, which really isn’t even that impressive, until the summer and caused all the home games to be road games. I mean i think the administration was just so bad that the job could be filled by anyone even a coach who goes 3-22.
