Breathitt and Hazard will be the two teams to beat while I predict Shannon Hoskins to have a better team than most think at Perry. Leslie will be much more improved and dangerous. Knott will be in the think of things. Should be a very competitive season.

Practice is rolling and it’s not going to be as easy as everyone thinks to walk through the north fork
Sperry Gross playing at a different level right now
Shooters are hitting it could be a different night for us come late February

I will put my money on Hazard. Then Breathitt simply because they have the phenom, Sperry. Looking forward to seeing the Beverly/Neace showdown this season. Should be an interesting matchup.

If Knott stays healthy
They can make a lot of noise to upset
Some of the ones picked to win
Don’t count out Drake and Co

Does anyone have any scores from scrimmages from around the region?

Harrison beat Estill 43-38 at Bourbon County.
Not sure how Estill’s scrimmage went with Tates Creek.
Estill doesn’t have much size but they got speed.

How do you think they compare to last years team? Always tough to gauge but they seem to be a team that keeps surprising people. Just didn’t know how losing Hamilton and Bellamy plays in to it all.

I was at bourbon all day last week. Lots of basketball. Saw flinchum play I believe Lafayette. I was in and out so can’t remember score but think Lee lost. But it was all flinchum which was expected. He looked good but the rest of the pieces need work.
Watched Estill they look down compared to other years but they have a good coach so we will see.
Powell looked not as great to me but it’s early. Bourbon is who they played and Allen Martin had to feel good beating them I’d say. Bourbon just looked way more dominant. But how that compares to the 14th region competition is the question.
Powell is missing an experienced point guard. Nothing against the kid playing, think he’s young and will get better. But that hurt them. I know Bryson Edwards can be a force but he wasn’t on his game that night. There was just something off with them to me watching them last week vs towards end of year. It was a long day but that was my take.
but they are scrimmages for a reason. So who knows.
who did Wolfe play? Or breathitt? Anything from those games?
