Letcher County Central at Hazard 9/13

Letcher County Central vs Hazard. Thoughts?
#2
I'll take Hazard!

I’d say chandler has had this one circled for a while. It should be a slobber knocker. I expect a lot of points on both sides

I think Letcher will have a lot of problems with Hazard upfront and won’t be able to slow down their running game. Hazard still has some hole in their defense as well and Letcher will be able to score some points. After seeing both teams overall I feel like Hazard is the stronger team.

Letcher 21

Hazard going 4-0 under the new coach.
#7
Im rolling with Hazard.
#8
Really a tossup. I've seen both play, & I have a gut feeling that Letcher Co. Central pulls the upset on the road.
#9
This will be Hazard toughest opponent yet. I think Letcher will win in close game. But really impressed with Hazard thus far.

Hazard is going to win. LCC will get beat in the secondary. The running start from 5 LCC defensive linemen leaves the middle of the field wide open and if Hazard’s QB can be somewhat accurate, there may be some huge chunk plays in this game for Hazard. It also leaves them vulnerable to leverage and Hazard can hurt them running as well. LCC won’t be able to keep up on the scoreboard. Hazard by 2-3 scores.

Hazard is legit. They pick up another win this Friday!

Letcher couldn’t stop the run last week against Bell County. But they will be a bit stronger this week since Brett Smith will be back on both sides of the ball. The game could have been closer if not for Letchers turnovers in the red zone. Hazard will definitely need to tackle n wrap up this week against 3 solid backs. Hope to see a little more pressure on the quarterback. So far through 3 games they won the line of scrimmage. They will need to do so again. Offensively they just need to keep doing what they been doing.

Hazard has got to tackle better this week to win. Plain and simple. 46, 18, and 10 are all pretty stout players and 10 and 18 are track kids that translate that speed onto the football field really well. LCC is also a lot better upfront than Paris is. They move better. Hazard has been the more physical team in their first 3 games. This will be a good test to see how well they can match up with a team that’s arguably better upfront than they are. I am going to go with Letcher based on their physicality in the trenches and their backfield. It’s a close won though. Hazard also has to fix their PAT issues.

LCC 34
Hazard 27

Anyone know for sure how many players Letcher has that play both ways? I believe hazard will have the edge in this department as Hazard only has 4 players that play both ways and possible only 3 sometimes. I think this will be a huge factor in this one.

I also want to point out this is a huge game for Coach Chandler playing his Alma Mater. He will be fired up for this one.

I think this one will be a battle but I’m going to stray from the pa k and go with Letcher.
#16
This is a game where the special teams could come back to bite Hazard.
#17
Hazard is averaging 47 points per game so far this season. Can Letcher keep them from reaching that total? Hazard defense is only giving up 18 points per game.
#18
Big Bubba No Trubba. Hazard wins this one easy. LCC is down. Hazard by 4 TDs.

Hazard wins.

Letcher going to be big time short handed this week. Hazard wins this one. I think it should be close because Hazard not as good as Raceland or Bell co and Letcher was competitive with both of those teams. I would go Hazard 28 LCC 20

Those are great numbers but they haven’t exactly played a murderers row. The good news is I’m not sure LCC is much better so Hazard wins. I think they’ll beat Breathitt next week also.  Then we get to see who they really are.  They get Corbin and Raceland back to back. I don’t expect them to be in the game against Corbin but I want to see how they compete. Raceland will be a great measuring stick. Even though they are down, the Rams will still be a hurdle to clear in class A.

Well this game is a good comparison because Raceland just played Letcher two weeks ago. So we shall see how they compare.

I think Hazard is better offensively than Raceland. Not sure about the defense because they haven’t been tested but this should be a better indicator overall. Felt LCC missed a lot of opportunities and few questionable play calls against Raceland and one holding call came at the perfect time. Raceland just killed them with their running game. Hazard has more weapons. I think they win by 3 scores but I want to reserve judgement until I see them against a good team. No doubt much improved but I said they may be a year away. Not sure they can’t compete this year.

Letcher coaching staff lost the game against Raceland. Just before halftime they decided to go for it on 4th down instead of just punting n flipping the field. It give raceland like maybe 40 yards or so to score just before halftime. Letcher defense got stops before that. You play it smart a punt it away and make them drive the field atleast 60-80 yards or more. After that score the Rams had the mo.

A Raceland tradition, the refs there have impeccable timing.
