I do believe that JC will have a great defense this year. They bring back 9 starters from last years team that had a decent defense and now that the corners and safeties have experience under their belt, this defense will be force to reckon with. Key players: Tommy Taylor, Blake Johnson, Michael Tackett

I think that Johnson Centrals defense should be a very solid defense returning 9 starters from a defense that started to click last year after the Lawrence County bashing. JC returns:
Ryan Baldwin: DT. Sort of small on the D-line but plays big. Very strong and quick off the line.
Chase Richardson: DT. Stellar freshman season. Many ppl expect alot out of this kid. Good size, strong, and good speed, heard he may get some carries out of the backfield this year.
Cody Conley: DE. Quick off the end and tackles well. Catches the ball good to so may see him drop back into some pass coverage this year from his DE spot or may make the move to LB.
Shawn Grimm: DE. Saw time at DE and CB. Very quick off the end and does not care to hit. I love this kid. May see the Dials kid that transfered from LC at DE or LB.
Blake Johnson: LB. Love watching him bring it. Quick and his position and very very strong, also finds the ball well. Should make for one of the best linebackers ever at JC.
Micheal Tackett: LB. Another kid that flat out loves to hit. Looks small to be an LB but he will let you now right off that that aint the case. Along with Johnson will be the staple of this years defense.
Tommy Taylor: CB. I knew this kid would be a solid cover DB last year. With his size, speed, and ability to jump and catch, he will cover the best reciever a team has. Kid can flat out jump out of the gym.
Craig Hampton: DB. Showed alot of good things last year but got beat quite a bit. Has good speed and good hands. Should have gotten faster over the offseason as well as stronger. Should be a very solid DB. May see some of Grimm here as well.
Ian Welch: S. Like Richardson had a stellar year as a freshman. Good size, along with his speed and ability, makes alot of ppl expect big things out of this kid. Makes good open field tackles as well.

Leslie will have a decent defense.

I think Leslie's defense can be better than last years. They have very strong linebacker play with Howard and Baker. The d-line is pretty strong to. The secondary is led by Hubbard. I think by district time leslie will be a team to watch out for.
