About time Rock got some respect. But Even with the loses I honestly think southwestern is 2nd best team in the Wymt viewing area

I agree. Clay County and Somerset shouldn't be above Whitley County either.

5, 6, and 7 should be 3, 4, and 5. Any of the three would beat Rockcastle or Bell IMO.

It’s always about the beauty contest with wymt. They won’t rank teams based on what would happen if they played teams head to head. Only what their schedule has been and how many games they’ve won.
Had Corbin lost to FD and rock was undefeated, they’d prolly rank rock ahead of them even though Corbin would put a running clock on them.

It’s always been that way. Not saying it’s wrong or right but it’s the way they do it.

You say that but several of the teams on this top 10 have been beat nearly as many times as they have won yet are still ranked so you can’t really argue that. Southwestern 4-3 Belfry 4-3 Johnson Central 5-3 while others are gripping that a 7-0 Betsy Layne isn’t on the list but would be underdogs in every game against the top 10 but there 7-0 so if that’s the case WYMT would have them high on the rankings.

I get what you’re saying but that’s only because those teams that shouldn’t be ranked are also losing games. In most years, they do like I said. They’ll rank teams with good records regardless of strength of schedule and possible head to head over a better team that’s played and lost to powerhouses

Mine:

1 Corbin
2 SW
3 Pikeville
4 Belfry
5 JC
6 Whitley
7 Rock
8 Bell
9/10 Somerset/Clay

Id push Whitley below bell and rock since they lost to bell but really those three could be interchangeable and are close. Other than that I’d say it’s spot on
I think you got to put north ahead of them as well since they lost that one. 6-9 should be north rock bell Whitley

Knew I forgot someone. Whitley lost to NL early and is playing better. Bell barely slipped past Perry and Whitley crushed them
How about

1Corbin
2SW
3Pikeville
4Belfry
5JC
6(tie) Whitley
6(tie) Bell
6(tie) Rock
6(tie) NL
10Somerset

Clay out, they have beat no one and cheat sheet says Calpreps favors Somerset Over Clay by 14.

I think that's the most realistic based on current performance. I'm not sure if my Colonels are 6, but they are at least 8.

I didn't even notice that North Laurel was missing from the list. I've never liked North Laurel, but I think on a good night that they can compete in the trenches with most of the top 10.

North is not better than Rock or Bell. Bell already proved that by beating them this year.

North Laurel isn’t a top 10 team right now if they played Whitley like normal this late in the season they wouldn’t win. Whitley would beat them. Bell already did if they played this late it wouldn’t even have been as close as the first time. I believe Taylor will beat them this week it’s going to be a close game I just don’t see NL having an offense to beat many teams.

Seeds 3-10 are all capable of beating each other on any giving night. Corbin and Pikeville would be clear cut favorites over any of the other 8 teams what that means is Pikeville will repeat in 1A and Corbin should be capable of winning 4A with the expection of a few contenders like Cov Catholic Highlands Franklin County I still say it’s Boyle to loose but Corbin is right there. Rankings 3,4,6,8 are all in 3A and neither are favorites to win it but Bell and Rock are capable of representing the East along with 6 Belfry in title game depending on how the road plays out. Clay is the lone outcast but are part of 3A district 7 also in that district but not ranked is Knox which in my opinion is either the toughest district or 2nd toughest maybe behind 3A district 2 out of the west. Then you have Somerset who can reach maybe 3rd or 4th round in 2A. Even Whitley is playing some good football right now and have a measuring stick game this Friday to see how far they may can go in 4A. It’s a good representation of several classes that should have 1A champs Pikeville. 4A contender or state champion in Corbin. 3A runner ups or upset champs in either Rock Bell or a Belfry maybe 5A runner ups in Southwestern. Then have to see how far Somerset can go in 2A.

I thought it would have mattered that a team hasn't played any competition but guess not.
